            • MIL fascinating bullpen

              Hader seems wasted in the bullpen when they have a great bullpen already, because he is SP level and that is a lot harder
              plus Jeffress, Barnes, Hader also excel and now here comes Knebel (126K in 76 IP) back

              a weird plan so far but effective - and weird can be good. don't know what they do next

                Probably lower the load a bit - they'll need all those guys to pitch a lot of IP for relievers given the Brewers SPs.
                I'm just here for the baseball.

                • O'Day to DL. Givens? Bleier? Brach listed up front but he's been ugly. Givens has been good lately, Bleier the most consistent this year.

                  @closernews
                  Givens has been very good as of late (9.1 IP, ER, 5 H, 3 BB, 15 K in last 7 games) and Bleier has been good all season (0.44 ERA) and very effective against right-handed batters (.391 OPS) and left-handed batters (.665 OPS).

                  @closer_monkey Darren O’Day placed on disabled list May 9, 2018

                  Baltimore Orioles – The Orioles placed Darren O’Day on the disabled list. We will move Brad Brach to the top of the committee but keep an eye on Mychal Givens. He has struck out seven batters over his last three innings. Richard Bleier could see some saves as the lefty in the committee.

                  Updated hierarchy: *Brach | Givens | Bleier.
                  * = closer-by-committee

                    I know it generally does not matter how many games a team wins for closer value because bad teams tend to have their wins end up close. That being said, to get saves, a closer's team actually has to win a game. The Orioles do not look remotely close to pulling that feat off right now.

                      Brach w the save tonite. I didnt watch it but his stats looked good: 1 IP, 1 H, 2K. Perhaps he has the job back now (if he can keep it) until Britton returns.

                      • Clippard w the save tonite but that might have been coincidence. Tepera was used in the 8th when they were trailing 2-1. Axford pitched the 7th and Oh the 6th so Clippard was the only closer candidate left.

                        • Jeffress w the save tonite for the Brewers, and he pitched a perfect inn. striking out all 3 hitters. Jeffress' ERA is 0.43! Knebel pitched the 8th and had no trouble, K'ing 2 and walking 1. Along w Hader, what a bullpen!!!

                          • Boxberger velocity way down tonight. Given his history, that is not a good sign despite getting out of the inning.

                              those are the 3 Brewers RPs of note
                              I have Knebel and Jeffress and just cut Albers today, but Albers and Barnes are now cannon fodder except maybe in NL holds leagues. all 5 are stellar

                              • Another bad outing for Neris tonite. Given a 1-run lead, he gives up back-to-back HRs and 3 ER to blown the save and get the loss. ERA now is 5.40. He would seem to be on thin ice.
