I am not sure you need one of the big four. In my league (16-team mixed), I have one of the better keeper lists---all hitters (Trea Turner $6, Dee Gordon $26, Amed Rosario $6, Schwarber $11 (had to take his contract to get Turner last year), Justin Turner $16, Acuna and Albies free (reserve round picks)), and no pitchers whatsoever. At least three of the big four will be in the draft (Sale might get kept for $48). Still, I feel no need to get one of them---I think depth of rotation can work just as well. I might go after a big one, but if I can get multiple guys in the next tier (Verlander, Carrasco, Darvish, Price, Keuchel, etc.), I would be just as happy. Of course, we have a set-up where you have to have six starting pitchers (and five relievers), so it is harder to use one stud to save your ratios than other leagues, but I still think 2 of those guys would be as good as one of the big four in any league. Probably better.
