I found this article interesting even though I don't pretend to fully understand the math. http://www.fangraphs.com/community/c...sing-or-curse/

      FWIW, rosterresource.com says Souza.

They appear to be projecting Souza to AAA with Dickerson playing RF vs. RHP and Pearce or Guyer playing RF vs. LHP.

        Tampa Bay 2015
        - vs RHP:.703 OPS (24th in MLB)
        - vs LHP: .759 OPS (4th in MLB)

Tampa addressed a specific need while saving money.
Looks like Colorado's attempt to get something significant for Gonzalez has failed. But McGee should be easy to trade later on.

          more on Dickerson - http://theprocessreport.net/corey-di...ght-commodity/

Colome becomes the setup guy and gets a nice bump in value as he looked really good in relief once he made the change

They're not done trading as Jennings or Guyer will be gone as well as they have too many RH OF bats. Guyer is out of options, and they're paying Jennings too much to be a short side platoon guy. Dickerson needs a RH bat, so pair him up with Guyer or call up Mahtook to do that. Kiermaier is going to play everyday and the same with Souza. Pearce can play 1B vs LHP while Loney or Morrison gets it vs RH. They need to move a bat or two and get some pen help because McGee was the only trusted asset out there.

The more I think about this, the more I wonder why the Rays traded for a guy with plantar fascia problems to play on their godawful turf. Does this deal make sense for anybody?
