  • Chapman to the Dodgers

for two prospects. Why do they feel the need to replace an elite closer with another elite closer? Because it worked out so well for the Nationals?

Are they keeping Jansen? That's the question. That is a hell of an 8/9 combo if they do.

So, presumably not Seager, and I'd be shocked if they included Urias. MI might be the one thing Cincy doesn't need, so probably not Peraza.

      Grant Holmes, maybe?

Mother******. I was planning on keeping Jansen in my H2H league where I have to keep 2 pitchers. Keuchel was my other pitcher keeper.
Bob- I'm not exactly sure it would ROCK as you say it Byron.. it may be cool, by typical text book descriptions. Your opinion of this is shallow and poorly constructed, but allow me to re-craft your initial thought into something tangable.

I have Jansen AND Chapman in one league as keepers, though our saves cat is actually saves + Holds so I'm pretty safe.

This is such a bad trade. Best pitching prospect for a second closer when you already have a dominant one? Huh? Maybe they should get 7 more closers and pitch one inning at a time next year. Heh that doesnt sound half bad actuallly

                    This ESPN article says Urias...

The Dodgers added All-Star closer Aroldis Chapman to their bullpen Monday by acquiring the hard-throwing left-hander from the Reds for two prospects, a source confirmed to ESPN.

Which is a crazy price to pay for a closer.

Maybe it's updated it now says :

Los Angeles will send two prospects -- neither of whom is prized 19-year-old left-hander Julio Urias -- to Cincinnati, the source told Bowden. The deal, which is pending Chapman's passing a medical examination, was first reported Monday by Fox Sports.

Well hopefully it was just a typo in the version before, I was floored him being reported in it.

Or maybe I just scanned the article poorly and saw his name and copied the url.

Players who know Jansen do not believe he would react well if he lost closer’s job with #Dodgers set to acquire Chapman. Stay tuned.
