As for Superman, those were different times. In Metropolis, crime generally took place in an orderly fashion, one criminal event at a time. The same with natural disasters.

I love Atticus Finch. I only wish more lawyers would emulate him.

But I did notice that he had just the one case. The cost of living must have been pretty low there in Maycomb County.
