  • R.I.P. Shirley Temple

Shirley Temple has passed at 85.

She made her mark in the 30's at time when depressed America needed something to feel good about. I remember as young boy watching her movies on tv (1960 or so). She was a very special young talent.

Seems like she lead a pretty good life after the Hollywood fame went away.

Turns out I have 3 degrees seperation from her. My wifes aunt (I never met her) lived across the street from Shirley.

When I was a kid I loved watching Shirley Temple movies. When I saw that this morning, I was actually more shocked she was still alive ... yet it turns out she had a relatively successful career as a diplomat up until the 1990's.

I used to watch her when I was a kid after 1949.....I would tap dance while watching her and then my sister Peggy taught me the 1955 dance, the Jitterbug.....It was fun...
