  • Is a VPN worth it?

    And would it work to evade MLB blackout rules? Any plusses or minuses information would be appreciated. Thanks.

    Not any more. MLBTV has put new safeguards in place this year that will eventually find you out. They track IPs and if the IP your VPN has ended up on their VPN list, they'll block you (VPNs only have so many IPs apparently) Once your account is associated with VPN use, they seem to flag your account for extra scrutiny. I used to have a work around, but even that doesn't work anymore.

    I just went ahead and bought the single team subscription ($55) and no more blackout. I already have the rest of MLB.tv free from T Mobile so it's not so bad. Save your money on the VPN if it's only use is MLB.TV
