Believe me, there's plenty of McDonald's out here, the cities are just more spread out than in the midwest.

My girlfriend and I did a "fat flush" recently which called for all kinds of fresh fruits and vegetables and while it was a pain in the butt to prepare all that stuff every meal and visit the grocery store twice a week, I'd never felt better. Of course, she went to visit family right after it was over so I decided to get super lazy and got back to feeling sluggish. Maybe there's something to this whole fresh food thing...

      Cross-thread relevant post ...

This is the story of a UK undercover police agent who was tasked to infiltrate protest groups, as part of a secret program (the Secret Demonstration Squad ... seriously) that existed from 1968 to 2008. While undercover, Bob Lambert broke all manner of laws, fathered children to other protesters, had numerous other relationships, encouraged others to break the law, and helped generate incendiary propaganda, one such leaflet would led to the longest civil trial in English legal history. The McLibel document he's alleged to have helped compile related to McDonald's work practices, environmental destruction, and poor food quality. They apparently made most of it up, and McD ended up spending 10's of millions fighting the case, eventually winning, but in the process unveiling a lot of information that was really harmful to the company (especially relating to food quality) ... irony.

The program was closed in 2008 when the story broke. This is our police ... imagine what our completely secretive Intelligence Agencies are up to.

I was in Vegas last week. Home of some of the best food in the world, home of thousands of food choices, home of all different types of cuisines, fast food, quick food, slow food, you name it, and the one thing that appalled me most was how many people there, with all those choices available, go to the food courts in the casinos and eat--McDonalds. Their version of "home cooking", I guess.

I'm pretty sure if I'm going to Vegas it's not for the cuisine.
