  • Bar Rescue.....

Does anyone watch this show on Spike? I watch this show and see the train wrecks these bars are before they get the help they are in need of. The one that I still cant understand is the "Pirate" themed bar where the owner and her husband along with 17 year old child live in their parents basement because the business was floundering.

She gets the help she needed, re-launch, change the business name, menu, drinks etc... and everything was working well. Except that she had to give up her Pirate theme so she changes back to the Pirate themed bar....

Its amazing to see how poorly run some of these places are and how crappy the kitchens in these places looked. Amazing also that noone got really ill eating at the establishments.
It is wrong and ultimately self-defeating for a nation of immigrants to permit the kind of abuse of our immigration laws we have seen in recent years and we must stop it.

I've been watching it and I like it. I missed the pirate bar episode and keep looking out for it. I'm sure I'll see a repeat of it eventually.

I too am amazed at the conditions some of these places are in. There was one kitchen with a dead rat behind the freezer (that didn't even work).

The hosts' in your face style can be annoying but I realize that's the Ramsey for Kitchen Nightmares schtick they are going for. I think he lacks any flair that Ramsey has when berating people.
I'm unconsoled I'm lonely, I am so much better than I used to be.

I like the fat guy in the dandy suits on the food network doing the same thing.

Never saw it. I'll have to look for it. I've avoided the Spike Channel for awhile since the last time i did, it took 4 hours (with commercials) to watch a 2 1/2 hour movie. I guess i need a DVR.

Sounds similar to Restaurant Impossible, another Food Network show with Robert Irvine using a $10,000 budget to fix restaurants on the brink of going out of business. The wife and i really like that show.

I saw an episode of this a couple weeks ago - the one where the bar was full of board games.

I loved how the owner insisted that customers loved the games and atmosphere in her empty, struggling bar.

I downgraded my cable package so I no longer get Spike. I do miss it but am not sure it's worth $30/mo to get the package that includes it.
