Hey, Romney is right, the top 5% are struggling, we'd better help them!

Jason, just wondering if you could post what each income tier represents. I'd be interested in knowing that.

i have epiphanies like that all the time. for example i was watching a basketball game today and realized pom poms are like a pair of tits. there's 2 of them. they're round. they shake. women play with them. thus instead of having two, cheerleaders have four boobs.

http://www.census.gov/hhes/www/incom...ical/families/ has all data but here's the upper limits of each in 2010:

        lowest 5th: $26,685
        second 5th: $48,000
        third 5th: 74,144
        fourth 5th: $113,744,
top 5% (the lower limit): $200,354

We haven't had a merit raise in 4 years and COLA was wiped out one year (that was fun...no raise and no COLA) and then 2%, 1%, 2%... Flat line

I've seen 2 raises and 2 bonuses in 8 years with my company. None of which have come in the last 4

With my previous employer, I had no raise, no raise, 10% (temporary) pay cut, no raise, 2% raise. And they thought I should be happy about the 2% raise, as it was "above average" compared to the rest of the company. Needless to say, I don't actually miss that job very much.

I've just been given my 7th boss in 8 years and removed from a group that had a bonus plan which means I'm now ineligible for one again (was just put on the team 15 months ago). I'm still a manager of just myself with a national territory of being Mr. Wolf for issues in the field.

I have a rather unique skillset so there aren't a lot of non-sales opportunities for me to move to and the only thing that make the job tolerable these days is the travel points that I get to parlay into baseball trips.

I hear ya, last job I was at I had a 2% and lost money after the new insurance premiums came out. The job I'm at now pays me about 15% less than my last job and no benefits other than PTO. I've picked up a part-time job and some consulting work to make ends meet, with the hope of having a little to put away.

It seems like 1993 was a banner year for the top, and then it just seems to progress, with an obvious huge disparity in the '00's.
