Without getting into discussion of the presidential election or the "GOP War on Women", I'm curious whether others - particularly in the pro-life community - have been told that a woman's body will "shut down" and prevent her from becoming pregnant in cases of forcible rape. And is there any mainstream scientific study that would support such a view? (I'm also ignoring the fact that Akin used the term "legitimate rape," which is worthy of the spit-takes that phrasing generated, but for the Sports Bar, let's assume he simply meant that the biological phenomenon to which he was referring is only triggered in cases of physical-assault-rape, not in cases of statutory rape or where a woman who has been drugged or is too drunk to resist.)

Edit: Unless he's talking about Prison Rape in which case maybe he can test his theory out and let us all know how that goes.If I whisper my wicked marching orders into the ether with no regard to where or how they may bear fruit, I am blameless should a broken spirit carry those orders out upon the innocent, for it was not my hand that took the action merely my lips which let slip their darkest wish. ~Daniel Devereaux 2011

I've never heard of that. This dude sounds like an ignoramus.
The national party just pulled his funding."When I use a word," Humpty Dumpty said in rather a scornful tone, "it means just what I choose it to mean - neither more nor less."
"The question is," said Alice, "whether you can make words mean so many different things."
"The question is," said Humpty Dumpty, "which is to be master - that's all."

I would totally vote for Akin.
For village idiot. Sorry SDS...you're hippo just lost my vote.Considering his only baseball post in the past year was bringing up a 3 year old thread to taunt Hornsby and he's never contributed a dime to our hatpass, perhaps?

1)The GOP is giving him no consessions to drop out.
2)He can stay in still Sept 18th and see if he can generate any support/money since he lost his national support.Bob- I'm not exactly sure it would ROCK as you say it Byron.. it may be cool, by typical text book descriptions. Your opinion of this is shallow and poorly constructed, but allow me to re-craft your initial thought into something tangable.
