It's impossible for me to do a complete list. The most brag-worthy:
1. Led Zeppelin- 1977, MSG. I was 15, spent most of "Moby Dick" and "Achilles Last Stand" on my knees puking in a disgusting bathroom stall.
2. Pink Floyd - 1977 MSG. Just three weeks later. The "Animals" tour.
3. Pink Floyd - The Wall, 1980, Nassau Coliseum. No WAY was I missing that one. Paid an outlandish-at-the-time $40 for a ticket.
4. Peter Gabriel - 1980, Secret fan gig at the tiny Hotel Diplomat on 47th St., my girlfriend and I met him afterwards in the hotel lobby and we talked for over 5 minutes. Nicest guy on earth, I still have the autographed ticket stub somewhere.
5. The Clash - 1981, saw three of the seven famed Bonds Casino shows on Times Square. I also saw them the next year on the "Combat Rock" tour.
6. Devo - 1980, Central Park. Record 103 degrees in the shade, sweltering... and officially the best concert I ever went to. Ask anyone else who was there.
7. Jesus & Mary Chain, 1985(?), Danceteria (of all places). Their first US gig, Bobby Gillespie on drums. Played for about 20 minutes in front of about 20 people.
8. Talking Heads, 1980 - Radio City Music Hall, "Remain In Light" tour.
9. Rolling Stones, 1981 - Carrier Dome, Syracuse.
10. Little Feat - 1977, The Beacon Theater. James Taylor and Carly Simon were sitting two rows in front of us, and they went up onstage to sing during the encore (extremely rare for Carly).
For Mith... I saw Rush in 1977, "Farewell To Kings" tour. How's THAT for old school. Also saw them at least three other times, "Hemispheres", "Moving Pictures" tours. My brother was a fanatic.
Multiples:
Genesis: At least 10 times.
Gabriel: 7-8
Yes: 7-8
Todd Rundgren: 5-6
Pink Floyd: 4
Cocteau Twins: 4
Bowie: 3
Punk/new wave era: Ramones, Gang Of Four, The Specials, New Order, Stranglers, Squeeze, Public Image ltd., Bow Wow Wow, The Cure, Dead Boys, Sugarcubes, Sex Pistols (reunion)
