  • Bob,
Curious if all 3 directions are in play, which I would find fascinating - and would that be unprecedented?

Looking for a historical take on whether 2012 is closer to an "all bets are off" on President/Senate/House than usual.

I'd follow this stuff closer in the same parallel universe where we traded places.

finished 10th in this 37th yr in 11-team-only NL 5x5
    own picks 1, 2, 5, 6, 9 in April 2022 1st-rd farmhand draft
    won in 2017 15 07 05 04 02 93 90 84

    SP SGray 16, TWalker 10, AWood 10, Price 3, KH Kim 2, Corbin 10
    RP Bednar 10, Bender 10, Graterol 2
    C Stallings 2, Casali 1
    1B Votto 10, 3B ERios 2, 1B Zimmerman 2, 2S Chisholm 5, 2B Hoerner 5, 2B Solano 2, 2B LGarcia 10, SS Gregorius 17
    OF Cain 14, Bader 1, Daza 1

    • I have a question. Several battleground states also have a tight Senate races expected. Off the top of my head: MO, NM, NV, VA, FL, OH.

How much will the two campaigns interact?

In Ohio, it all depends on the economy. If things pick up, the President will be welcomed with open arms; if it fizzles, the local Democratic party folks will make it known (without saying it directly) that the President's efforts are, uh, best directed elsewhere.

The other states are probably in a similar situation.

What you are saying is that the Senate race will tend to track the Presidential race. Fair enough, but it does not asnwer the question.

Hey Nully... my wife has to get rid of her cat (new boyfriend must be allergic or something) so I'm getting one of my cats back.

He's a Chicago politician, pure and simple. While politicians are a slimy lot on the whole, Chicago politicians take sleaze, unethical behavior, and lying to a whole new level.

You shouldn't feel racist. Chicago politicians are pigs regardless of race, creed, or sexual orientation.

Dude, I'm in that business and trust me, Obama had next to nothing to do with causing or exasperating the foreclosure mess. He made a half-hearted effort to fix it and was completely blocked by the GOP and big lenders. So his fault was not recognizing that the housing melt-down is at the heart of our economic problem and not doing enough to fix it. But he isn't responsible for any increase. What he is responsible for is failing to be responsible for not decreasing it enough. His program helped, but not enough, imo.
