And yet he's likely to be re-elected...imagine that.
this is obama's economy. As much as he wants to run away from it, its his, but if the voters think he's done a good job with is, he'll get 4 more years.

not unless he did something illegal, or at least what most of us would consider highly unethical.

Is it unethical to have an income of say $50M, mostly capital gains or dividends or nontraditional income but offset it with capital losses and a fully tax dedicable tithe to make an effective tax rate of basically zero? What if a sizable percentage of his income is sheltered offshore?

personally i find it unethical to reap the benefit of a capitalist society at the level of mitt romney, yet pay nothing into it, hell, that almost sounds socialist

And appears to be sliding again.

You say he is likely to be re elected. Of course he is. He's the incumbent. What is your point? Are you worried that he squandered his lead? It is the only thing that makes sense in context, but it does not fit the tone of your remarks.

I'm not "worried" about either candidate being elected, this country has survived 235 years under leadership both good and bad, weak and strong. And will continue to survive because of the people that are governed, not the governors. I'm merely pointing out that a chart made up of cherry-picked indicators isn't going to sway anyone, nor does it have any particular meaning towards the election of the President, or his challenger.

Yes Romney is a weak candidate and I'm not a big fan of his. But after most elections, the general consensus is that the loser was a poor candidate with severe flaws. McCain, Kerry, Gore, Dole were all considered weak candidates. Maybe Bush 1 wasnt considered weak, but likely because he was a sitting president.
Congress takes no responsibilities here with the House wasting our times with repeal votes and no jobs votes while the Senate filibusters everything the Dems try to pass no matter what?

To say it is cherry picked is certainly reasonable, though I think "padded" would be more accurate. However saying it has no meaning not reasonable. There is a valid point there. It may be padded, painted and coifed, but it is still valid.

Neither guy has my vote yet. Nor will get it based on their medical marijuana stances.

This isn't an issue I care about when voting, because, like anybody, I can get marijuana anytime I want, legal or not, medicinal or not, no matter what member of which party holds what office. So, practically speaking, it's irrelevant to me.

Philosophically, obviously, I don't like what Romney has to say about it. Realistically, Obama is no better. He said he would not use Justice Department resources to interfere with state medical marijuana policy. He flat out lied. His DEA routinely comes into our state and bullies the dispensaries, and his U.S. attorneys are very aggressive with their prosecutorial threats and strong-arm tactics. I know this an issue in other states as well (see yesterday's protests in Oakland). So, yeah, words are wind - there's not a lick of difference between the two.

Now, on the local front, Colorado Democrats are actually putting support for full legalization in the 2012 state party platform. I doubt it will result in actual legislation, but it's a step in the right direction.
