Back to Back wins is good, especially when a guy with 82K pushes with pocket 77's into my KK. Started table at 82K and am up to 183K.

I was out long ago. Raised big pre-flop with KK. Two callers. The board came J T 6 rainbow. Rag on the turn. Ten on the river. As you can probably guess, some fool had called me with a 10-3 suited. I lost my will to live after that. Stupid free-tard poker.

Fvck. Down in AC and just got knocked out of my tourny when someone called my all-in with a flush draw and hit. Now I'm waiting to get into a 1-1 cash game so i can lose another $150.

What do you do when you get crap cards all night in a tourny? I played 2 free games last night (at least made the final table the second game) and the first game I think I won the blinds once with a 3x bet with A10 suited and chopped a pot once playing the board when I had bet with AJ suited. Otherwise I didn't even get suited connectors or anything that amounted to a potential hand all night. At some point, as I fold fold fold and see people raking pots, I get to wondering if I'm just not a good player. Should I be making moves and trying to make something of nothing with my hands? My play seems to swing like a pendulum. I start to feel like I'm playing too tight so I start to loosen up. Then after a few weeks I find that I'm playing too many marginal hands and I tighten up. I think I need to learn to do both at different times better. At what point do you have to switch from playing tight conservative to aggressive when you just aren't getting anything to play with?

I havent played live for a while, but I would say that at some point when you are fold fold folding, the players you are playing against will see you are a nit and should play against you accordingly. So then you can take advantage of your table image. SO that would be adjusting to your image. Your image is a weapon that you can use, just as are good cards.

Do you decide right from the start of the hand that you are going to represent something? I wasn't even getting hands that had potential to turn into something so I wasn't even seeing flops. Do you just pick a spot and say "I'm winning this hand no matter what happens"?

You want to pick your opponent. Look for someone who is raising a lot in position preflop, and has a tendency to fold easily after the flop if they miss. You want to do this against a good player, not a novice or a bad player. Put in the 4-bet preflop, and you should be able to blow him off the pot unless you get unlucky. A good player will understand your play as a sign of strength, a bad player will just look at the absolute value of their hand and call.

You should do this from time to time in any case ... that way your monster hands will be disguised much better when you get them.

Pretty much, maybe once or twice per round. I'll target a favorable situation - good position, no crazy action before me, and look for some medium gappers - 10-8, 9-7, 8-6, even 7-5. Then I play'em exactly like Pocket 10's - raise big pre-flop, bet it big on the flop - unless/until I encounter stiff resistance. Even if I get busted, I can still get some value out of the play - occassionally I'll sheepishly flip my trash cards up when I fold, just to show'em that I'm not sitting around waiting for Aces.

Sea Dog doubles up when his dominated A7 beats AQsuited.
