I made a 76-song "Best Of 2011" YouTube playlist (taken from various blog and forum year-end lists). It's been playing on shuffle in the background for me these last three weeks. Country music doesn't just come from Nashville. Nowadays only the good country music is outside of Nashville. (Granted this is 1996).

The record that Lorretta Lynn record made with Jack White in 2004 (Van Lear Rose) is really good. It was shunned by the country music establishment, and got practically no air play on country radio stations.
