    Of all the days for my digital camera's battery to be out of charge...

    Yesterday, in the creek behind our house, two snapping turtles were making the babies. I ran to get my digital camera so I could post some pictures here, and the thing was out of charge. Might as well have had Bigfoot back there as well, I couldn't have been more disappointed.

    I am trying to get footage of these two crazy magpies who are terrorising the neighbourhood cats. I thought I had some very close up footage of them double teaming the adolescent cat from next door last week ... but didn't hit record properly. The cat was paralysed in the middle, as the two birds took turns to jump over it and peck her from the back. One would distract the cats attention while the other swooped. I've never seen anything like this.

    There is a black and white cat in the street who isn't so timid ... it is only a matter of time before he gets one of them.

            As a matter of fact, the Ohio University women's swim team does bicycle down our road. I know their coach, I'm sure there's some wacky scheme I could dream up to get them to stop by.
