  • Huge fire in my neighborhood yesterday

    I was cutting my front yard yesterday and I looked across the street and saw flames coming out of the auction house roof.

    I yelled to my neighbor who was outside and he called 911.

    Here is the link from the local news station:



    On the top video at 1:00 that is my daughter

    On the lower video at 1:06 , the young "woman" interviewed is my daughter.
    "I lingered round them, under that benign sky: watched the moths fluttering among the heath and harebells, listened to the soft wind breathing through the grass, and wondered how any one could ever imagine unquiet slumbers for the sleepers in that quiet earth."

      The reporters asked me if I wanted to be interviewed but i declined. She jumped on doing it!!

              Thanks guys. It was pretty scary indeed. There was a huge amount of smoke that fortunately rose straight up and didn't affect any houses.

                Funny you bring this up.....neighbor 3 doors down got hit by lightening on Thursday. We are close to FD, so it didn’t burn to the ground, but significant damage. They will be out of the house for weeks I’m sure.

                      Glad no one was hurt and your daughter became a celebrity...but all I could think about at the 0:10 point in the video was "which of those woods do Mith's dog's crap in ?"

                            The woods weren't visible in that video as they are on the other side of my house But I don't walk my dogs there anymore.
