huh, this thread didn't exist? I don't think? I might be too tired and overlooked it.

Anyway.

If you like science fiction at all, this will take you about 75 minutes to get through. it's one of my favorite pieces of sf I've read in a long time. and i know the football stuff can be tedious but get through those parts, it ends up making sense later. you don't need to read the details of those parts too closely.
