The issue of the Christians seems important enough to your counsel, especially on account of the number of those involved; for there are many of every age, of every rank, and of both sexes. This superstition has spread like a contagious disease, not only into cities and townes, but into the country villages as well. Those who accepted the message were baptized, and about 3,000 were added to the number that day. -Luke Historian, Acts 2:41

While members of the Sanhedrin were throwing stones at Stephen, he prayed. Lord Jesus, receive my spirit. he said. Then he fell on his knees. He cried out, "Lord! Don't hold this sin against them!" When he had said this he died. -Luke, Historian, Acts 7:59-60
