Didn't the ratings steadily decline on Boardwalk Empire? And pretty far? Anyway, that may just be my personal bias. I thought it missed the mark by a mile.

I don't care much for True Blood either, but I'll give you that one. My wife loves it. I keep telling her that if Vampires don't have blood running through their veins, then they can't get erections. But she still loves 'em.

Man, this thing just gets better every week.

For those of you that liked Martin's books, I suggest The First Law trilogy by Joe Abercrombie. Just finished it and they were damn good.

Last night was pretty great. It's going to be a rollercoaster ride from here.

Best episode yet. Bloody too. We are finally starting to cook, story-wise.

not having read the book, it's got so many threads to follow it doesn't seem like it's making any progress-- I still love it though.
If I whisper my wicked marching orders into the ether with no regard to where or how they may bear fruit, I am blameless should a broken spirit carry those orders out upon the innocent, for it was not my hand that took the action merely my lips which let slip their darkest wish. ~Daniel Devereaux 2011

Well with the last episode you have to admit things in the capitol city are certainly progressing... the King's #1 soldier just tried to kill the King's best friend in the middle of the street in broad daylight. That's gonna snowball fast. Things are rolling in the Cat/Tyrion story as well. The thread with Jon at the wall and the thread across the sea will have some action but those won't really come to a head until later seasons. For the most part.

This show looks so well made. It reminds me of what I appreciated about Rome. But like Rome, there is ample sex and nudity in the first episode. Of which I was not aware of while I was watching in the school library where people are studying for finals.

                          Yeah, that was extremely bizarre.

Indeed it was, and the dwarf's facial expression was great. That episode was the best so far, hope they continue that trend.

It was a surreal reveal in the book when it happened. I remember that that was the point where you realized this broad was totally off her rockers. I think they overplayed it too much in the show.

Overall, though, I'm quite happy with the adaptation. I just wish HBO offered their shows on iTunes because my cable company doesn't offer HBO Go (Time Warner Cable is a monopoly in the area, and I despise them greatly). I can't wait for this to come out on Blu-Ray.
