Since it was a late lunch I just had a few taquitos for dinner before heading out to the bars with a buddy but one bar had free chips and salsa and another had free peanuts so those calories added up as well. Including the two cocktails I had before we left and the four I had out at bars, my daily calorie total came out to 3,100 I don't go out every weekend and normally there's no food involved, but it's still a big eye-opener.
Beer can be a killer in a calorie counting lifestyle.

Though I did learn that Guinness has the fewest of any non lite beer.......

Last night it was pretty much all vodka tonics which at least don't have as much sugar as most mixers, but the approximately 11 ounces of vodka added up to about 700 calories by itself.

Guinness along with other stouts are better for you than most beers since they do have fewer calories and actually have some anti-oxidants and such.

Those 700 calories would have killed me.

How the mesh? Right now it feels great just off of dropping some weight, doing the stomach muscle strengthing exercises, and pushing in on my belly when I cough

mesh is fine - fixed it right up. turned out it was a problem i'd had since i was born - weak umbilical wall just inside my belly button - and it was just a matter of time according to my doc who did the surgery. when i told my mom i was having the surgery, she told me this weird story about how i had a big "outie" when i was born, and they taped a quarter over it. apparently it was common practice at the time.

Have not posted here, but I dropped 35 lbs last year to get to the 190/195 range by November, its nice to say I weigh less than I did when I graduated HS 30 years ago.

Nothing revolutionary, ate less, ate better, work out some, but not very often with kids/life schedule. I have maintained my present weight so far, and doing my best to stick to good habits.

Using MyFitnessPal has been very helpful so far. I'm not really trying to lose weight, but it's been a good way to improve my eating and drinking habits. Too often in the past I'd absent-mindedly have a beer around 5 o'clock and then a couple cocktails while watching a movie or something. Now that I have to log every single thing that goes in my body, it makes me aware of not only the calories they contain, but my drinking habits as well. Since Saturday I haven't gone over my suggested calorie limit and have done much better about balancing my nutrition while limiting alcohol intake. My fiance has even gotten really into it after being resistant at first - probably because it told her she could lose 10 pounds in 5 weeks if she kept doing what she's been doing the last few days

I joined a gym today that will open some time in the next week. $19.99 a month, and no starting fees. There is a $39.99 fee for equipment maintenance if I am still a member in June. No contract commitment. It includes everything but personal trainers and TRX / Kettlebell / Zumba. It even includes free tanning, not that I will be doing that ( though I might go for a base tan in June because the plan is to go to Key West this summer and I don't want to go down there without a base tan. )

Another good point about this gym is that they have one very close to another place I go quite often, so both locations are available to me.

Lately I have been doing lots of resistance band training.... with heavy bands.... I can't even use one of them yet as it is way to hard for me at this time. I built a cool band training area in my basement.

yeah, for those who haven't tried a lengthy, focused approach, about 2 lbs a week is normal for most people. In 3 months, that's 25 lbs so it does add up.

What's crazy is days like yesterday where my calories were super low and I jogged for half an hour - it says I would lose 15 pounds in 5 weeks!

I once met a guy who claimed to lose 282 pounds in 14 months..... must be similar.

That quick of weight loss scares me. Not that I couldn't afford to lose 100 pounds...

But I should at least take a look at it...if you don't mind.
Considering his only baseball post in the past year was bringing up a 3 year old thread to taunt Hornsby and he's never contributed a dime to our hatpass, perhaps?

This thread stays in the back of my mind.
A bad trigger for me is when Mrs Judge is out with the gals. I'll be bored at home, so order too much food.
Have already gotten rid of pizza this year, and at least Chinese food chicken with stringbeans has stringbeans, but with wonton soup and maybe spare ribs and white rice - way too much.

so last night, I just made a low sodium turkey and Vermont cheddar sandwich; I wasn't that hungry, anyway.

Thursday was a balancing day for me - pizza and wings with my hockey team. I ate 8 wings and a small pizza, plus 2 Stella. I actually stayed below my calorie count with a light breakfast and stir fry for lunch.

Yesterday I went to a kitchen party for a friend's birthday and had spaghetti and caesar salad (1 serving). Back to cleaner foods...
