The report does not prove or disprove that Wilson is or is not a racist. He may well be one or he may not.

There is however, NO DOUBT there are racists within the Ferguson PD and justice system. That has been proven.
If I whisper my wicked marching orders into the ether with no regard to where or how they may bear fruit, I am blameless should a broken spirit carry those orders out upon the innocent, for it was not my hand that took the action merely my lips which let slip their darkest wish. ~Daniel Devereaux 2011

So those emails depicting racist language are NOT indicators of racism? It's a simple yes or no question.

If you look at Capehart's Twitter feed, I think you'll see a lot of people, especially on the left, who refuse to accept the depth of lying that did take place.

I have no idea what 1J is talking about with "memes" and assume he is using the term incorrectly. Unless he really is stating that the Ferguson Police Department is not racist, based on this blog post (or something.....I have no idea, honestly.)
Jays method of debate in a nutshell

Jay Posts--eating bananas makes you gay.

Someone responds--I disagree, you are wrong, please offer support for your claim and cite credible sources.

Jay posts--My begonias are coming in early this spring............

Jay then dances away from the computer gleefully savoring yet another win on the interwebs........

            • A meme (/ˈmiːm/ meem)[1] is "an idea, behavior, or style that spreads from person to person within a culture".[2] A meme acts as a unit for carrying cultural ideas, symbols, or practices that can be transmitted from one mind to another through writing, speech, gestures, rituals, or other imitable phenomena with a mimicked theme.
I think he is saying that the two sides have come up with their own stories here:

Left: Brown was a complete innocent who was shot while holding his hands high in the air by a rascist officer who was part of a corrupt system
Right: The cops were just doing their job and the kid had it coming to him.

He's saying the recent news and report contradict the most strident views of both these.

I don't think J posts non-sequiturs like GITH suggests, I just think he is the master of Vague-posting with a bit of troll in him.

I disagree. This requires a creative intelligence that jay has yet to exhibit in his entire time on the board. Not that he's not intelligent because I think he is, but he's definitely not creative in using it. And yes my example was intentionally hyperbolic.

Thing is Jay never rarely responds to direct questioning. He's yet to answer several questions within this thread alone. If he indeed is a Master Troll then it's akin to the Prestige.

And being continually intentionally vague and trollish is being somewhat of a dick and Jay, though many things, has never acted like a dick in here before. That's my job.

                    • this is a bit of an aside to this story, but is from the DoJ report, which i heard during one of the NPR stories about it.

i found it shocking that judges in the area around st. louis area can also be lawyers at the same time, as long as they are practicing in a different district. it's apparently common for them to sit on even more than one bench, and then practice law in multiple other districts. that just seems really odd to me. it would seem to be an immediate conflict, as a "you scratch my back, i'll scratch yours" situation would be trivially easy between judges who are also lawyers in each other's districts. maybe lucky (or anybody else) knows if that is common practice elsewhere in the country? i don't think it's the case here in new mexico (i've never heard of it anyway - only judges that subsequently become lawyers, or vice versa).

Kind of like appointing a prosecutor to a grand jury to represent Brown even though his father was a police officer killed by an african american perp. Missouri seems a little fucked up judicially.

                        • This really sickened me. Last night in Virginia, a black student was singled out at a bar for showing a fake ID, and beaten to a bloody pulp.

Here's the article I found the video on.

                          http://countercurrentnews.com/2015/0...d-out-by-cops/

Tell me we're in a post racial era. Tell me we're being served and protected by police forces.

Both issues, the racial one, and the police (not even real police, liquor board authorities) brutality that we see every day. A new story every single day, and nobody is even talking about restricting the police from seeking their ends, counter to the wants and needs of the public. How can a politician approach cutting police funding, and look soft on crime, and by extension, soft on drugs, soft on immigration, soft on everything... it's political suicide, when the voting populace is so easily manipulated.

All very disturbing. Not sure how this gets fixed.
Larry David was once being heckled, long before any success. Heckler says "I'm taking my dog over to fuck your mother, weekly." Larry responds "I hate to tell you this, but your dog isn't liking it."

                          • It's amazing that this is the response to a black kid with a fake ID and they allow a white guy with an assault rifle by a school in Michigan to call them pussies without incident.

keep telling yourself that race plays no part in this if it helps you sleep better.

about 80% of the population of Ferguson has an active arrest warrant out. There were about 4x as many arrest warrants issued last year in Ferguson than there were in Boston.
In the best of times, our days are numbered, anyway. And it would be a crime against Nature for any generation to take the world crisis so solemnly that it put off enjoying those things for which we were presumably designed in the first place, and which the gravest statesmen and the hoarsest politicians hope to make available to all men in the end: I mean the opportunity to do good work, to fall in love, to enjoy friends, to sit under trees, to read, to hit a ball and bounce the baby.
