my point was that any poster who mindlessly posts a tweet by someone who has zero credibility is mimicking the very behavior that got us into this mess in the first place (see previous posts).

meanwhile, I got a kick of out of this one:

"Knowing the Dems own all 3 decision making entities for at least 2 years"

um, have you met Joe Manchin?

            per Rollcall.com on Nov.9:

"West Virginia Democrat Joe Manchin III wants to make clear that he will not be the 50th vote in favor of eliminating the legislative filibuster or expanding the size of the Supreme Court in a potential 50-50 Senate.

"Democrats still have a narrow path to a Senate majority if they are able to prevail in two January runoff elections in Georgia, assuming Republicans currently leading in North Carolina and Alaska win. But in a move that seems partly designed to interfere with GOP talking points about the risks of unified Democratic government, Manchin appeared Monday on Fox News to declare dead several progressive priorities.

“I commit to you tonight, and I commit to all of your viewers and everyone else that’s watching. I want to allay those fears, I want to rest those fears for you right now because when they talk about whether it be packing the courts, or ending the filibuster, I will not vote to do that,” Manchin said in the interview. “I will not vote to pack the courts … and I will not vote to end the filibuster.”

Manchin said that in his estimation, efforts to defund the police and advance “Medicare for All” lacked support among members of the Senate Democratic Conference as well.

"Manchin said moderates should be able to trust that he can keep his word and not give in to pressure from Schumer, citing his vote in favor of Supreme Court Justice Brett M. Kavanaugh.

“If I can take that type of pressure, if I can vote for Brett Kavanaugh, the only Democrat, if I can take that type of pressure, you don’t think that I can basically justify what I’m going to be doing and how I’m going to vote, knowing that I’m sitting in the seat that Robert C. Byrd held, who wrote the rules of the Senate?” he said.

“When you’re talking about basically Green New Deal and all this ‘socialism.’ That’s not who we are as a Democratic Party. It’s not how I was raised in West Virginia,” Manchin said Monday. “It’s not the Democrats I know.”

            .............

congrats to Fox, MSNBC, and CNN for breathlessly touting the "sea change" that was bound to occur if the Senate winds up (technically) 50-50. their ratings soared, lobbyists of all stripes made millions, and so on.

I didn't have the heart to tell you right away - but now seems like an okay time.

for better or for worse, seems like the time for all of us to face reality.

Anyone think this looks functional ? It didn't collapse under her weight anyway. She nearly hit her head on the crossbar, so not sure how tall she is compared to Pence. If they got Pence to this gallows he would just stand on the platform like she did, if he didn't have to duck to avoid the bar.
And the noose would be hanging limply. Anyway, if it isn't obvious, it is possible that there were terrorists who intended to kill Pence or others while it can also be true that this was a flimsy and poorly constructed prop and if they intended to kill him, it wasn't likely on this platform. And me pointing that out doesn't mean I support terrorists, cross burning, molotov cocktails or anything related to Trump or terrorism. Hope that clears things up. My tits are now calm.

Reporter Chris Quintana was struck by how festive the insurrection was. "It almost felt like a music festival or something," he said. "I saw many people, often clad in MAGA apparel, posing for photos in front of the Capitol after the break-in."
They were even taking photos at the gallows someone set up across the street. "I am not sure who erected it," Quintana said, "but the demonstrators seemed to love it. I saw people pose for pictures while holding a noose.

That "zero credibility" tweeter provided video evidence showing police complicity. There's no disputing the video by anyone of sound mind.

it's a 9-second clip with zero context - if it even is from that day (and since this Twit's previous post was off by 2 weeks, 3,000 miles, and any context, I wonder).

granted, none of that matters anymore.

as long as the clip produces any dopamine (yes, ironically), it's all good.

I already knew your political persuasions and never thought you were a trump supporter - I assume you knew that, right? Where you lost me was mockingly suggesting that this mob would have hesitated to publicly execute Pence. Of course, that prop wouldn’t have held up, but their intent was pretty clear to me regardless of the device employed. This whole psychotic affair just looks worse and worse the more information and video evidence that surfaces. What do you think would have happened had the terrorists gotten their hands on Pence? How about Pelosi? It’s hard to even believe this happened, much less that it was actively encouraged by Republican leadership.

                          • “Hang Mike Pence” is currently trending on Twitter.

Edit: looks like Twitter has blocked it from trending now

Edit 2: they were chanting hang Mike Pence at the riot.

Edit 3: man, embedding tweets and dealing with the quote function is really hard on mobile

                            • A number of FDNY (Fire Department of New York) employees were at the riot. The FDNY has turned over information to the FBI.
