I don't have much sense yet of what kind of candidate Democrat voters want for 2020. It seems to me like the party is having a mass identity crisis, similar to what the Republicans went through with the Tea Party fracture. Right now, I feel like this could be a tough primary for the sober centrist types. Which is too bad, because I think that that type of candidate is better positioned to peel off Trump-weary Republicans and independents in the general.

Mike Gravel, damn. I hope this geezer makes it into the debates. Tweet from 6 days ago: "Joe Biden is the candidate for people who have such a low opinion of the American people that the only person they'd pick over an authoritarian moron is a slightly older, slightly nicer authoritarian moron."
Another, Apr. 25: "Joe Biden is a spineless politician who mouths off about Charlotesville not necessarily because he's anti-racism - he voted against busing and wrote the crime bill - but because he thought it made things too obvious. He's all for "law and order" and "safe communities," though."
This one is great, responding to Biden's tweet about ice cream, he replies: "biden's attempts to appear relatable are basically as good as Kang's classic line "as a young boy, I dreamed of being a baseball"
So many awful Biden comments surfacing, new and old. From '73, he claimed that gay government workers were a "security threat"... doesn't look good combined with signing DOMA.
From a few days ago, Biden bragged about "visiting the 'hood"... from the early 2000's, he made a super weird speech about the responsibility of black men to get tested for AIDS...
From early 2000's, Biden claims that the US should "wipe out" North Korea! (Edit: not exactly, "take them out") Full transcript: "I agree with the Israeli position on this. If we have evidence that they are building a missile defense-uh-uh-a... missile system, an offensive system with a nuclear capacity and they will not negotiate with us, I would support a unilateral strike to take them out." This reckless egomaniac... damn. Worse than Trump on foreign policy/hawkishness? Reminders of Hillary?
This guy is a never-ending barrage of awfulness. The clips will not stop. In his wildest dreams, Trump could never script a better campaign attack ad against Biden than him saying "I was ready to prostitute myself".Last edited by Teenwolf; 05-09-2019, 09:00 AM.Larry David was once being heckled, long before any success. Gravel, an 88-year-old veteran who grew up in Massachusetts, moved to Alaska in 1956 - 3 years before it became a state.
he spent a lot of time in 1959 on a crusade against socialism. he became a Senator in 1968, and worked hard - unsuccessfully - to end the Vietnam War in the early 1970s. he also ran a wacky effort to be chosen as McGovern's VP in 1972, and ran for President in 2008.
his life is utterly fascinating - but if a new poll comes out with 22 candidates for the 2020 nomination, he'll wind up in 23rd place.finished 10th in this 37th yr in 11-team-only NL 5x5

there are multiple minimal standards by DNC to qualify for a debate, I think, and I can't imagine in a million years that Gravel meets any of them.finished 10th in this 37th yr in 11-team-only NL 5x5

So you have heard from sheep, Bernie and me about being the best chances for the Dems to peel off votes from Trump-weary Republicans and independents...so maybe you're seeing a trend about what a viable Democrat would look like."Looks like I picked a bad day to give up sniffing glue.

i have epiphanies like that all the time. for example i was watching a basketball game today and realized pom poms are like a pair of tits. there's 2 of them. they're round. they shake. women play with them. thus instead of having two, cheerleaders have four boobs.

I'm unfamiliar with quite a few of the candidates. I would need hear more from Booker, Harris, and O'Rourke to be convinced to vote for them.
Bernie is too far on the left for me, as is Warren. I would be hard pressed not to vote third party if those two were the Dems nominee.
Buttigieg would really need to show me a lot, as I just don't think running the city of South Bend provides you with enough experience."Looks like I picked a bad day to give up sniffing glue.
