No, I've been Never Trump since he entered the race. I have historically voted mainly Republican, but I have never been a "registered" Republican. I voted for John B. Anderson over Reagan back in the day. I voted for both GWB and GHWB, as well as Dole, McCain and Romney.

Thanks for the straight forward answer. Too many people when asked that question give some circuitous answer - and yes I too remember Anderson . I turned 18 a week before voting day in Ohio and voted for Carter.

I was going to say I voted for a lot of losers. But I’ll rephrase it and say that I voted for a lot of losing candidates.

I wouldn't write him or any Dem candidate off yet. It's still early in the game.

I don't have much sense yet of what kind of candidate Democrat voters want for 2020. It seems to me like the party is having a mass identity crisis, similar to what the Republicans went through with the Tea Party fracture. Right now, I feel like this could be a tough primary for the sober centrist types. Which is too bad, because I think that that type of candidate is better positioned to peel off Trump-weary Republicans and independents in the general.

No it isn't early. There is a long way to go but it's already late to be announcing.

Mike Gravel, damn. I hope this geezer makes it into the debates. Tweet from 6 days ago: "Joe Biden is the candidate for people who have such a low opinion of the American people that the only person they'd pick over an authoritarian moron is a slightly older, slightly nicer authoritarian moron."

This one is great, responding to Biden's tweet about ice cream, he replies: "biden's attempts to appear relatable are basically as good as Kang's classic line "as a young boy, I dreamed of being a baseball"

So many awful Biden comments surfacing, new and old. From '73, he claimed that gay government workers were a "security threat"... doesn't look good combined with signing DOMA.

From a few days ago, Biden bragged about "visiting the 'hood"... from the early 2000's, he made a super weird speech about the responsibility of black men to get tested for AIDS...

This guy is a never-ending barrage of awfulness. The clips will not stop. In his wildest dreams, Trump could never script a better campaign attack ad against Biden than him saying "I was ready to prostitute myself".

Probably, but his twitter bombs are causing a bit of a stir and creating a bit of a following. He's probably more like 15th of the 22, but he's got a puncher's chance of at least playing the Sanders'16 role, moving the conversation to the left, fighting against neo-liberal incremental solutions to catastrophic problems. Like I say, I just hope he gets into the debate, just like Tulsi. I hope they do well in shaping the conversation.

there are multiple minimal standards by DNC to qualify for a debate, I think, and I can't imagine in a million years that Gravel meets any of them.

I would definitely vote for Biden, Klobuchar, Hickenlooper and Gabbard

I'm unfamiliar with quite a few of the candidates. I would need hear more from Booker, Harris, and O'Rourke to be convinced to vote for them.

Bernie is too far on the left for me, as is Warren. I would be hard pressed not to vote third party if those two were the Dems nominee.

Buttigieg would really need to show me a lot, as I just don't think running the city of South Bend provides you with enough experience.

Exactly, in a almost the same order. Although I’ve cooled on Gabbard. It’s not her time, but I do like Buttigieg. I agree about small city mayor, but he be a good VP for someone. I’ll admit I’m not a fan of his picking a fight with Pence when Pence isn’t even fighting. It seems like too much of a stunt that he could avoid until the general. I’ll admit I’m not hot on any yet but I’m listening.

Thanks. I hear you on Buttigieg taking the jump from mayor to president. Then again, Trump took the jump from reality star to president, and 90+% of Republicans are really happy with how he has done, so maybe I've overrated experience all my life.

One thing I will give Trump. I think there are a lot more transferrable skills from a international businessman to president than mid-sized mayor to president.
