Joe Biden is facing serious allegations of inappropriate touching, hair-smelling, and head-kissing. I hate to say I told you Biden would get "#MeToo'd... actually, i love it. This is what i posted March 25, 2018 in the sports bar 2020 prediction thread:

You think it's a good idea in the midst of the #MeToo movement to send the message that women need to be "protected" by men "beating the hell out of" their abusers? "Vintage Joe Biden" is a less sharp, less engaging, more rambling doddering old man than Bernie. As mentioned earlier, Biden's reputation as a hair-smelling, lingering-hugging, creeping old-man is way more ripe for critique in 2020 than whatever issues people make up about Bernie's age... I guess we'll see in the primaries. Coming up quick.

As I continue to say, Biden is only a tool for Bernie to allay the "too old" criticism, so it pains me to see Biden fumble, looking out of touch.

As my message from a year ago states, I really want Biden to run against Bernie, both as a neutralizing element against the "Bernie's too old" mantra, and as an opponent with only skeletons in his closet. Looked weak. Now if he doesn't run because of this and his idiotic public non-apology on Anita Hill... dude might actually see the writing on the wall. If he was waiting for April 1st to announce for contribution disclosure reasons, well he picked a hell of a time to do it. After Stacy Abrams embarrassed him publicly on The View this week, saying the notion of her running as Biden's VP on a dual ticket was ridiculous, and she even hinted that people need to decide if his apologies for his actions on Anita Hill are enough to move forward. Holy shit, could you have a worse week?

Biden was the chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee at the time Hill testified in 1991 about her allegations against Thomas.

"To this day, I regret I couldn't come up with a way to give her the kind of hearing she deserved,” Biden said.

"I wish I could have done something"... you mean like allowing the 2 other witnesses who came forward with separate but related character issues to not be silenced... by you? This old creep is so entitled, and so completely devoid of blame for any of his wrongdoings. Pathetic. I hope he sticks around to get obliterated and split more votes... Watch media circle the wagons around Buttigieg now. I don't expect the Bernie smears to stop anytime soon, but I don't expect they'll have much effect either.

Rs were in full-blown "drain the swamp" mode, and Trump was their siren call.

Ds now are in "let's think future" mode, and a really old dude who, in spite of what seems to be plenty of decency, has had a 1950s ignorance about women - he doesn't really fit the mood right now.

I found the Anita Hill hearings bizarre because of the assumption of innocence for Thomas.
I found the Brett Kavanaugh hearings bizarre because of the assumption of guilt for Kavanaugh.

And the whole world is bizarre because no one else thinks like me.

Wrong comparison. Franken was taken out behind the woodshed for about the same sort of thing, quite possibly less than the totality of Biden's creeping. Unfortunate for my centrist vote splitting calculus as it is, this could be enough to end Biden's 2020 campaign before it starts.

well, 2020 Presidential candidates asking a Supreme Court nominee about "boofing" - farting - and "the Devil's Triangle" - which indeed turned out to be a drinking game - was kind of bizarre, too. also questions about a supposed gang-rape ring that were inspired by Dem darling d'jour Michael Avenatti.
