Can you specify what is fair that works for all candidates?

A - candidate A gets majority of votes and delegates and is above 50% of all votes - that should be easy
B - candidate A get majority of votes and delegates and is below 50%
C - candidate A gets majority of delegate but not votes and is above 50%
D - candidate A gets majority of votes but not delegates and is above 50%
    E - version C but below 50%
    F - version d but below 50%

Hazier ones - try the scenarios without names of candidates
where current candidates pledge their delegates and/or votes to others - if that can be done
delegates are asked to repick their selections

I guess my question is "how is fair defined for ALL candidates"

    thanks
The only "Fair" way to really do it is nominated whomever gets the most delegates, even if it's not over 50%. I'm sure whomever does that will also come in with the most votes as well. Allowing failed candidates to pledge delegates would be unfair in any scenario (even if they gave them to Bernie) Only Bernie can tell me if he was treated fairly or not and again--I support him because I trust him so his word is OK by me.
If I whisper my wicked marching orders into the ether with no regard to where or how they may bear fruit, I am blameless should a broken spirit carry those orders out upon the innocent, for it was not my hand that took the action merely my lips which let slip their darkest wish. ~Daniel Devereaux 2011

The rules have been established for awhile now. You need 1990 delegates. If no one attains that, the Superdelegates get to vote. They are free to vote as they see fit. I believe everyone was aware of this prior to the campaign beginning, so I don’t know what makes it fair or unfair. The time to bicker over the rules was a year ago, not now.
      Just one idiot’s (me) opinion......
Now, do I think whatever candidate has the most delegates will abide by that if they don’t get to 1990? Of course not, regardless of who that candidate is.
Let's hope someone gets 1990 because everyone knows that the Supers aren't voting for Bernie.

Sorry, the only "fair" way is to adhere to the original rules like nots said. I'm glad you put fair in quotations because it is obviously subjective.

Yeah because we all know what Fair means to some folks.

Whatever it takes to win right D?

Ethics 1.01, if you don't have any--anything seems "Fair"

Yup. Bernie knew what he was signing up for when he decide he wanted to run under the Democrat banner. He may not like, but he made that decision.

Let me be provocative and say, if Sanders really was really true to his political view as a Democratic-Socialist, he would have run as an independent and seen if he could have garnered this much attention as a third-party candidate.

i have epiphanies like that all the time. for example i was watching a basketball game today and realized pom poms are like a pair of tits. there's 2 of them. they're round. they shake. women play with them. thus instead of having two, cheerleaders have four boobs.

Yeah, a whole metric fuck tonne of voters have come to the same conclusion, voting isn't worth their time.

The fact that you insist this is just the way things are, suck it up buttercup... that's sad. You like the level of political disengagement in the US?

Sanders' unwillingness to compromise on his platform ideals is the reason he can inspire non-voters in ways all of the compromise candidates you prefer will not. Maybe "compromise is politics 101" to you... but to all of the non-voters, that's exactly the reason they've never voted before. That's the theory of the case, for me.

The Democratic Party has included Democratic socialists for quite a while now. Bernie's trying to change the Party, how can you do that from the outside?

Can you guys even help trying to paint Sanders as something other than ethical anymore?

The system is rigged against 3rd party candidates. They cannot win, structurally they do not have the capability of being viable. They are only spoilers.

Running 3rd party would guarantee another Trump term. Is that what you think he should have done on moral grounds, guaranteed another Trump term? Because he identifies as a Social-Democrat, he should destroy the actual Democratic party's chances to unite the progressive and centrists parts of the party???

                      Ludicrous.

I assume/hope that if "your candidate" loses and he/she tells you to get out there and vote for the winning democrat - that you would do that and hopefully the rest of the "your candidate" campaigners working with you would do it also.

No, of course, embrace the reality of political disengagement. Like Elizabeth Warren claimed "I'm just a player in the game." Keep the electorate feeling sickened at the display of political games prioritized over having a consistent vision...

That's how we unite to beat Trump.
