If I whisper my wicked marching orders into the ether with no regard to where or how they may bear fruit, I am blameless should a broken spirit carry those orders out upon the innocent, for it was not my hand that took the action merely my lips which let slip their darkest wish. ~Daniel Devereaux 2011

I actually am having a mental lapse it seems. Why did he change positions? Honest question on why you think he did it. He repeatedly stated he did it, because he thought super delegates should base their decision on who would be the most likely candidate to beat Trump, not who most people voted for. He flat out stated as much in the video below to a question about whether super delegates should go against the will of the voters. He stated they should vote based on who they think would be Trump, and thus they should vote for him, because he could beat Trump and she could not.
His plea wasn't Help me cheat TOO, it was--I am the better candidate to beat Trump, I wasn't given a fair shot to win the nomination--so do the right thing.
He was right on all counts. If I whisper my wicked marching orders into the ether with no regard to where or how they may bear fruit, I am blameless should a broken spirit carry those orders out upon the innocent, for it was not my hand that took the action merely my lips which let slip their darkest wish. ~Daniel Devereaux 2011

I'm gonna say this yet again with a twist--If Mike told you something was definitely going to happen in the realm of baseball, you'd give him the benefit of the doubt, but you won't give the same benefit to me even though I'm batting over .900 in the realm of politics here in the BP over the past decade plus.
I'M fucking telling you--If you make sure the primaries are fair and help assure they are, Snders and his supporters will back whomever FAIRLY (yes, in OUR Minds) wins the nod, if not (and you've done nothing to assure/demand the proceeding are ethical) then Trump will win.
You have 2 choices.
Act ethically and demand/expect everyone involved with the primaries does as well or have Trump in the White House for 4 more years.
I've already had 4 years of I told you so's to throw around. I can throw em around for 4 more if you all keep being obstinate and ignoring the one guy who's been right about it the most (even if you don't like me)If I whisper my wicked marching orders into the ether with no regard to where or how they may bear fruit, I am blameless should a broken spirit carry those orders out upon the innocent, for it was not my hand that took the action merely my lips which let slip their darkest wish. ~Daniel Devereaux 2011

Yes, Bernie was trying to say--he should be the nominee because Hillary had cheated and the DNC had helped her--He said this in May, Months after the cheating had occurred and after it had been reported, but before the convention.
His plea wasn't Help me cheat TOO, it was--I am the better candidate to beat Trump, I wasn't given a fair shot to win the nomination--so do the right thing.
He was right on all counts.
But the reality is, if that happens now, despite what Sanders said, I do not think the majority of his supporters would go with that. They are going to be super duper mad and likely withhold votes if those super delegates decide some other candidate has the better shot of winning and vote that way, just like Sanders said they should back in 2016. And I'm saying I don't get that. Why would it be wrong if Sanders loses because super delegates vote for who they think has the best shot of beating Trump when Sanders himself said it would be an okay way to do things back in 2016?Last edited by Sour Masher; 02-21-2020, 10:59 PM.Comment

We have the power to vote, we have the power to contribute to candidates. What more do you expect of us?
You can feel all high and mighty with your I-told-you-so's I guess, but...so what? I feel like you want us to get all worked up and rant here like you do, but how does that change anything? I don't really care what you're batting in the realm of political predictions here at RJ, because again, what does that change?
Either that, or you're taking out your (possibly legitimate) frustrations about what other people have done on the people on this forum. There's no reasonable way in which I or anyone else here can change what people did in the Nevada caucuses in 2016. There are a number of people here who have voted for and supported Bernie, and yet you think we're all idiots and have no ethics, for reasons that are unclear to me."Jesus said to them, 'Truly I tell you, the tax collectors and the prostitutes are going into the kingdom of God ahead of you.'"Comment

I certainly don't endorse anyone lying, but do you really think the Sanders campaign was trying to spread untruthful information or did maybe someone make a mistake ? you think they thought they could sneak that by all the the fact checkers to gain an advantage ? Seems more likely someone screwed up.
on the other hand do you think Bloomberg actually believed he cut stop and frisk by 95% when he went to court to defend his policy ? Do you think Pete didn't know that the people who never endorsed him did not do so ?---------------------------------------------

So to be fair, is it right for Biden and Bloomberg to lie about stop and frisk during the debate ? Is it cool for Buttigieg to lie about black supporters ?

I'm pretty sure that's beyond my powers and the powers of everyone on this forum. Who exactly on here do you think has influence with the Democratic Party leadership to make these changes? So you're going to bitch at us for another four years about things we didn't control in the first place.
We have the power to vote, we have the power to contribute to candidates. What more do you expect of us?
You can feel all high and mighty with your I-told-you-so's I guess, but...so what? I feel like you want us to get all worked up and rant here like you do, but how does that change anything? But I'm fucking tired of having to constantly point out that which you know to be real, Sanders is not anyone's first choice in here but maybe2-3 of us the rest are--holding your nose to vote for him should he get the nod and actively hoping/.working to discredit him unfairly. If not doing that, buying into the Media BS about him and forgiving others of transgressions you'd obliterate Sanders for committing.
yes, when I put my heart and soul into something and people ignore me or say, you're wrong--I jump at the chance to throw it in their faces because dammnit--we wouldn't have had Trump in the firstplace if people had listened to me and those LIKE me in the first place and we're setting ourselves up to see it happen again.
before you think this is just my online persona, I was thesameway when my daughter got in trouble with the law--she eventually did listen, but not till after she almost went to prison--since then we have a --I know you were right but you don't have to say it relationship. It's good she listens when I'm adamant (which isn't as often now)
My friends also know, if they ask me=--I offer my advice, if they ignore it they know not to speak of the issue again because I gave them a solution, they chose otherwise which is fine.
My issue in here has not been--I was right you were wrong it's been--DON'T BITCH ABOUT TRUMP--if you didn't listen. You don't have the moral high ground. I DO.
Again, it's not about feeling high and mighty it I don't want to hear you bitch about something you were told you could avoid.
You may not ;like me or the way I say things or my sanctimonious manner in which I post, but if you choose to ignore what I'm telling you about this election...……...don't fucking say a word when Trump is re-elected.
Or do and continue to bitch about me and my self ritghous, holier than though posts.
PS I get that our society has become acceptant/complacent with unethical behavior--it's pervasive in everything, but when does it stop? When we, the people make it stop. Want cheating in business to stop-enact legislation that jails people for unethical business practices and Presidents who pardon those convicted. Sports, Ban cheaters for life. Anyone who slept their way into a movie, can never work in the industry again (porn aside duh) Politics, if you're caught doing ANYTHING unethical--you can never un/hold office ect
If thy right eye offend the Pluck the fucker out.
If you won't listen to reason, maybe getting your ass kicked might help--but SOMETHING has to bee done to stem the tide or fuck us all, we might as well just lie down and let the bullshit drown us all.If I whisper my wicked marching orders into the ether with no regard to where or how they may bear fruit, I am blameless should a broken spirit carry those orders out upon the innocent, for it was not my hand that took the action merely my lips which let slip their darkest wish. ~Daniel Devereaux 2011

No to all of this. They are all wrong. More wrong. But that isn't why I brought up the Sanders thing--I don't think he is less truthful then the rest. I think he is more truthful than the rest--I like him and would support him! I just get the impression from some here sometimes that they think Sanders and his team are damn near perfect. They aren't. And the only reason I even push back on that is just my fear that held up to the ideal of what Sanders is, or what they think he is, many of his supporters think the rest of the field is so corrupt and base that none of them are worth supporting if Sanders isn't the nominee. That scares me. I want Trump beat.---------------------------------------------

GITH, you still didn't mention a single specific action that you have done or think we should do.
