Elections are about who WE prefer as a collective, not who you prefer or I prefer.

That's what voting is about, but that's not how you set up electoral systems. You don't set up an electoral system to unfairly sway things toward the candidate you prefer. Hopefully you set it up to best represent the choice of the whole electorate, not your personal favorite.

You and I only get one vote.

The process of a primary is inherently going to lead to diluted total numbers, I still say whomever gets them most votes, is the collective choice.

I'll take the names off of it because, although I thought that would help clarify, it seems to be confusing instead.

          New Hypothetical Scenario:
40% vote for Candidate A, 30% would have Candidate B as their second choice, 10% would have Candidate C as their second choice
35% vote for Candidate B, all 35% would have Candidate C as their second choice and they all absolutely abhor Candidate A
25% vote for Candidate C, all 25% would have Candidate B as their second choice and they all absolutely abhor Candidate A

You think Candidate A should win the nomination with 40% support, even though 60% of the electorate hate Candidate A? Or would Candidate B, with 35% support as first choice and 60% support as second choice, be a better representative of the will of the electorate?
That's just not looking at it correctly, you're advocating a system where you choose the Platform rather than the Person. Every one of your scenarios are about Bernie and Warren splitting the Vote and someone else slipping in. Advocating a brokered convention. If Warren get's more than Bernie, she should get the Nod and visa versa.

BTW, even if ONE candidate get's 49% and the other 51% is split between 5-6 other guys you could still say the majority of people hate that guy and be right--it's a horseshit comment.

I'm in favor of the popular vote wining it all, fuck electoral systems--that's what got us Trump and shit like Superdelegate/brokered conventions.

                • A brokered convention favors everyone expect Bernie, which you can't tell me this isn't about. The DNC and other candidates don't want Sanders as the Nominee, it's clear as they haven't encouraged anyone to drop out. Warren is till polling in the tank, but she's supposed to get the nomination over Sanders because the progressive wing get's more votes that the single moderate candidate? I absolutely guarantee a brokered convention in ANY respect will NOTend with Sanders being the Candidate in the General.

You're not going to get many if any sanders supporters on board with a brokered convention, even if he's behind going into it.

                        • It doesn’t appear Taibbi is much of a Bloomberg fan, lol. Good read.
The Nevada debate offered voters vital information — including the exposure of Michael Bloomberg’s reputation for “electability”
