I do not know the answer to that, and I'm not sure how it matters ? Shouldn't they, as a news organization, be trying to find stuff like this ? Isn't that their job, rather than to attack and question the motives of someone who discovers information relative to a candidates qualification ?

They do have an article on their website

Michael Bloomberg is heard defending his controversial stop and frisk policing policy in stark terms in audio that was posted on Twitter Monday, with the former New York mayor describing the policy as a way to reduce violence by throwing minority kids “up against the walls and frisk them.”

Yes, 100%. That's my exact point. The focus shouldn't be on the person releasing a 4+ year old video featuring Bloomberg making these problematic and racist statements. Yes, the timing is "convenient", and Benjamin Dixon clearly has an agenda, but I'd much rather them be focusing on the statements that were made and how problematic they are than whether or not this is dirty politics.

Of course - we're in the Trump regime so apparently being blatantly problematic matters a lot less than it used to.

          • Latest national polls has it as a 3-horse race:

            Code:
            2020 Democratic Presidential Nomination	Morning Consult	[B]Sanders 25, Biden 22, Bloomberg 17[/B], Warren 11, Buttigieg 11, Klobuchar 3, Yang 4, Steyer 3, Gabbard 1, Bennet 1, Patrick 0	Sanders +3
            2020 Democratic Presidential Nomination	The Hill/HarrisX	[B]Sanders 20, Biden 23, Bloomberg 16[/B], Warren 9, Buttigieg 9, Klobuchar 3, Yang 3, Steyer 3, Gabbard, Bennet, Patrick	Biden +3
Let's see how things change after today's NH primary and the NV Caucus on 2/22. Clearly Bloomberg is gaining just in time for Super Tuesday and Biden is slowing.

For me, for Bernie or Warren specifically, but for any candidate, really, is the question of how effective will Trump's FUD strategy on the economy going to be? I think he will use this strategy for any opponent, if he is smart. I do worry a little more about how effective it will be against Bernie, because he is a self-described socialist, and that is still a bad word to a lot of voters. Can Trump effectively convince swing voters that free health care is nice, but not if it collapses the economy and will lead to you losing your job? Again, Trump is going to use this argument against any of the candidates, but it may be more effective against the two progressives, and especially Bernie. But can Bernie effectively fight that message? That will be key. Trump will try to convince voters that he is a rising tide that will lift all ships, and that without him, everything will collapse and be worse. Bernie will have to convince people that Trump's rising tide has not lifted all boats and never will, and that he can.
Of course, a counter to that is that even if you concede Sanders may scare off some voters, he also very likely brings more new voters in than any other candidate. The question will be which number is bigger in the 5 or so states that actually matter. Will the new voters come out in Pennsylvania, Ohio, Wisconsin, Michigan, and Florida? Whoever can win over three of those states without losing any that HRC won beats Trump. It is really that simple.

Where is frae--I'd love to get a wonky take on those states, their demographics, etc.

Biden is toast. He abandoned New Hampshire early this morning, saying he needs to get to South Carolina. If he finishes 5th today, that has to be end of ballgame, no? I guess he's staying through SC either way. I'd love to see Biden leave without a single delegate, but that's just getting greedy.

Bloomberg buying off the Democratic establishment is sickening. I don't think his money propping up Bernie would be welcome or helpful to Sanders' turnout in the general. Bernie would do better saying "We told Mike Bloomberg to keep his money out of this campaign. He's going to need it when I'm elected President."
Larry David was once being heckled, long before any success. Heckler says "I'm taking my dog over to fuck your mother, weekly." Larry responds "I hate to tell you this, but your dog isn't liking it."

And here I will echo what others have said--we need to do away with the importance of Iowa going first. Frankly, that state doesn't matter to who wins. We need to move up these other key states. Who wins primaries in those five states matters most.

I don't think there's any way he drops out now. None. Why would he? He's still leading in most national polls. While Iowa and today was disappointing, he was not expected to contend in either.

If Klobuchar comes up short today, she's toast. Warren is also struggling but will stay in. Klobuchar's 5%-8% should migrate to Biden, Bloomberg or Mayor Pete, and that could make the difference.

It's going to come down to Super Tuesday in 3 weeks.

Klobuchar is clearly the Kasich here, the least offensive candidate, most genuinely uninspiring, eat yer broccoli type. If she jumps up to 3rd in NH, she could coalesce the moderates more than Biden. Going forward, she is toast of she doesnt see this late surge i envision in NH materialize. But Klobuchar has the wind in her sails, even if she's ultimately hopeless. But yeah, she likely finishes 3rd today and drops out before SC to make way for the Biden firewall.

Have you looked at the National polls lately? Bernie is up 4 pts on average, and has way more momentum, way more money, and now slightly ahead in minority support. You really think he rides these early shit kickings to 1st in SC?

And here is the only MSNBC article I could find. Lol. So the only reporting CNN and MSNBC due is to rationalize the comments or claim they are suspect because they come from a Bernie supporter. Hmmm....

Columbia, South Carolina Mayor Steve Benjamin, who has endorsed Mike Bloomberg, talks with Ali Velshi about audio that has surfaced in which the former New York City mayor defends the controversial stop-and-frisk program two years after he left office.
