This explains it all, and pretty much agrees with your theory that contracts are awarded based on financial incentives and personal favors for important connections. They explain the conflicts of interest that create the image of corruption at the very least. Nomiki Konst was on the DNC unity commission, so she has great insights on all of this.

I'm still somewhere between DNC conspiracy and DNC incompetance, but this video was very helpful.

I think I would prefer Kasich if forced to choose between them.

How does it feel to equate yourself to a Ted Cruz supporter?
On the left side of the moral ledger, I feel fine about it. He was the conservative policy guru of the pack. That's Warren on the progressive side this cycle.

I could ask you how it feels to be equated to a Donald Trump supporter, lol, but I already noted that I view Sanders as a much better person and a far better qualified candidate than Trump was/is.

Ultimately, I think Sanders will go into the convention with the most delegates, in which case I think he should be awarded the nomination, even if he doesn't hit the number to avoid a brokered convention. While I go back and forth on the extent to which I believe the argument, there is a strong argument that Sanders has the best chance to beat Trump. And I hope if and when he secures the nomination he'll have a broad coalition of Democrats and independents in his corner, including all of his current and past opponents and the prior Democratic administrations.

Terrible look for dems, though as der fuhrer can point to his R quick efficient count and 98% or whatever vote plus point out how his favorable rating is at an all time high.

Between Muehler and impeachment, trump can say you came at the king twice and missed, now I get to control the narrative in ways you cant fathom and no amount of wrongdoing will get me.
Who could have possibly foreseen impeachment backfiring so spectacularly on Democrats?

How does one have any basis to conclude that it has backfired at this point? Because he's going to be acquitted? Everyone already knew that was going to happen. We don't yet know how it impacts November voting.

Sanders is only Trump-like in his ability to galvanize turnout from a broad coalition, especially powered by an excited, enthusiastic, and massive millenial base that carry far left views, and are the future of the party, now or AOC, take your pick. So it feels great to be supporting the Trumpian candidate. I see your recognition of this is why you've come around to supporting him, despite being your least preferable candidate initially. I appreciate your pragmatism.

That's true, I was bragging prematurely, sorry. I'm cashing all my prediction cheques early.

I've heard both arguments, that it helps him claim victory and reignite the "witch hunt" narrative, but I have no idea if his base are still into that. I also hear from Tucker Carlson that if Trump runs on "keep America great" vs Sanders, he will get destroyed, and I believe him. The Obama-Trump voters have the best shot of flipping for Bernie. Politically disaffected independents and non voters have the best chance of turnout, and they're a way bigger mass of voters to draw from. I really think Sanders could devastate Trump at best, but even if Trump maintains an underestimated base of fervent support, then you'll need the type of coalition Bernie brings to overcome it.

It's like Bill Maher says, if you want to beat Trump, maybe you should go with the guy who has an army of badass motherfuckers ready to get out in the street for him.

Man, I understand wanting to be right, but I don't understand bragging about something that terrible. It's like predicting someone will get murdered and then smiling over the body when it happens.

Even if you "predicted" that something would help Trump, why would you want to gloat about it? Do you value your post accuracy that highly (note I don't actually think you do, just commenting on this strange act of gloating over something terrible).

Yeah, Trump getting a victory lap is equivalent to celebrating a murder.

You think I hope Trump wins or something, just to be proven correct? I've predicted Bernie will steamroll him, so I think you've got the wrong impression.

*sigh*, you didn't read the disclaimer at the end eh? I guess I'm not surprised.

I agree but that’s not exactly a ringing endorsement for Medicare For All.

You could, and might, say the same for medicare and medicaid. But most people appreciate them and do not want them to go away.

I just don't understand why you're offended I would want to gloat about a prediction that helped Trump. As I said from the start, impeachment is a dog and pony show that could only help Trump. Now, despite DNC projecting record turnout in Iowa, it looks like they collected 50K or so less than expected due to impeachment coverage crowding out election coverage. This all helps Trump massively, keeping Democrats chasing impeachment instead of focusing on bouncing him at the ballot box, like a dog chasing their tail, "the do-nothing Democrats" will become a weapon for Trump... but as DMT and InTheCorn and others so loudly shouted me down at the time, I feel I have a bit of righteous indignation. To all the haters, I welcome your hatred.

Also, rest assured I won't celebrate if my more radical predictions of Bernie being Epstein'd or climate change ending humanity in less than 50 years come to fruition. I'm not a total nihilist, just have streaks of it.

The delegitimizing of the vote and appearance of rigging will only help Sanders with Independents in New Hampshire, which made up a huge 33% of the 2016 primary electorate, so it's all good. Especially when Biden attempts to delegitimize the result, that will be fun. Or the count could shift to look much closer to Sanders... but the delegates are so tiny, its narrative that matters, and with Biden a distant 4th, and a 10 pt lead in New Hampshire, it's a better momentum boost than Iowa would have been. Fortunately, Nevada has scrapped plans to use the app, so I think Sanders's runway is clear to likely sweep up to super Tuesday.

Bernie's app got the numbers quicker and without a systemic malfunction. #SocialismWorks
