A look at the difference between Sanders and Warren supporters. It's bizarre to me that there isn't more overlap.

If DMT didn't exist we would have to invent it. There has to be a weirdest thing. Once we have the concept weird, there has to be a weirdest thing. And DMT is simply it.

Well all his supporters are misogynists.

Actually I find it surprising as well.

Very interesting. I hadn't realized this, but their divergent bases makes sense.

I've been really enjoying the output from The Hill's morning news show "Rising" (never would have thought). Here's a good discussion of the current race, mainly discussing Sanders, Biden, and Harris in regards to their polling with black voters in South Carolina. Sanders is beating Harris with black voters in SC, Biden 41%, Sanders 15%, Harris 12%. I think it's worrisome that black voters are clinging to Biden, and I hope they abandon him after a few more debates expose him. But I love seeing Sanders ahead of Harris, and the panel was largely surprised by that poll, so it's a good discussion.

She raised over $2.5 million in 24 hours and if nothing else she will make Mitch campaign some. His approval in KY is only 33% from a PPP poll from Feb. So yeah it is still unlikely especially in a Presidential election year, but McGrath has a good story and since she didn't get elected to the Lexington Cong. district in 2018 she has all the time in the world to just campaign.

in other good news in my mind, the Democrats got a very credible candidate to run in Main. Sara Gideon the Democratic speaker of the house in Maine announced she would challenge Susan Collins. Gideon has some statewide recognition and also a pretty good roll out to her campaign. She has raised over $1 million dollars in a week and presumably would have access to the $4 million plus that the fund Susan Collins opponent page has raised if Gideon is the nominee.

Anyway, KY is a pipe dream probably, but Gideon is a good get in a state that is something like D+9 and almost a must have if the Democrats want control of the Senate.
The McGrath rollout has been brutal. Last two paragraphs here are especially devastating.

She also bailed on an MSNBC interview at the last minute to avoid questions about her Kavanaugh flip flop.

I saw that MSNBC note, not ideal. If you are me the good news is she is 15 months away from the election so she has time for this to be a blip. But again she isn't winning unless Mitch is caught doing cocaine off Putin and even then...

Not sure if they will keep updating this specific page as we go but it does breakdown the money raised so far this year for the candidates.

This primary season, FiveThirtyEight and the Center for Public Integrity, a nonprofit investigative news organization, are teaming up to track candidates’ FEC filings and update this page with the latest numbers each quarter

Bernie showing awesome numbers, clearly the frontrunner in fundraising when you look at the charts. He's also got the 4th lowest burn rate. Nice.

                    Great strategy

WASHINGTON — The chairman of the House Intelligence Committee is portrayed as wearing clown makeup. Democratic congressional candidates — including an Air Force combat veteran — are labeled “socialist losers” or anti-Semites. Others have been singled out as Lyin’ Lucy McBath, Fake Nurse Lauren Underwood, Little Max Rose and China Dan McCready.

The National Republican Congressional Committee, with the blessing of House Republican leaders, has adopted a no-holds-barred strategy to win back the House majority next year, borrowing heavily from President Trump’s playbook in deploying such taunts and name-calling. After losing 40 seats and the House majority in November, Representative Tom Emmer of Minnesota, the committee’s new chairman, and Representative Kevin McCarthy of California, the Republican leader, decided that their messaging needed to be ruthless.
House Republicans’ campaign arm, waging a no-holds-barred battle to reclaim the majority, has adopted an antagonistic strategy that includes calling lawmakers names.

The GOP has turned into the Party of Hatred seemingly overnight. While some undercurrents were always there, it’s like the death grip has taken over. I wish I was back in college taking PoliSci courses again....it would be a fascinating study.

I am slightly surprised that they're not at least trying to be slightly more creative with their nicknames. Trump seriously has the worst nicknames ever.

"America needs you to focus. Democrats’ first thought in the morning and their last thought when they fall asleep at night should be, “How will this play in Erie, Pennsylvania?”

There are four states that matter in 2020: Wisconsin, Michigan, Pennsylvania and Florida. Win three out of four of those states and Trump is a one-term president. No matter how popular something might be with activists in Los Angeles or donors in Manhattan, it’s dead weight or worse if it isn’t a winner with Rotary Club members in Kenosha, Wisconsin."

"Progressives keep trying to convince themselves that people are sick and tired of what’s going on in this country. They are half right. Americans are tired. They’re tired of the endless rancor, the name-calling and the lies. They’re tired of the frenetic insanity of the last few years and the unprecedented attacks on America’s institutions. Americans don’t want to burn down the system. They want to put the fire out. Progressive activists may be angry but most of us are just exhausted."
