Some in here have stated they like Jesus the man. What would an atheist or agnostic like about Jesus the man?

Because, if one accepts the characterizations of Jesus from the Gospels, he promoted empathy, charity and love, and promoted the idea that ethics - doing good - is less about strict and cold compliance with "the law", and more about treating one another well - again, with empathy and love, particularly for the weak and less fortunate - the people societies have tended to look down upon.

Liking that doesn't depend one whit on whether Jesus was (1) the Messiah prophesized in the Hebrew Bible, or (2) the Son of G-d (or in any other way divine).

Just kidding. Do you have a particular reference that you like for the searching of the body? I would like to read it.

It is well documented that the Church claimed the empty tomb from the beginning. Early critics of Christianity presuppose the empty tomb: Justin Martyr, Dialogue with Trypho 108; Tertullian, De Spectaculis 30.

Indirectly, it is significant that women were principal witnesses. If the story were fabricated, the witnesses would surely have been men.

Lot's of holes, bait and switch. Why would he include Paul in the discussion of Jesus the man? Even I would not do that. He brushed over Tacitus and Josephus mixing some truth with lies. If he did his homework and was not intellectually lazy (or worse) he would have needed to address this in much greater detail.

He is an avowed atheist with an agenda. Seems like he is looking at self promotion and his 15 minutes of fame. He is an officially ordained Dudeist Priest which many in here will enjoy.

I didn't mind him including Paul.....it was when he quoted John, George, and Ringo that caused me pause.
