    Bienvenido a Venezuela

It seems he was using Venezuela as the example of what I had stated prior to that which was if your Democracy fails and your citizens cede their rights to a Socialist government - well essentially be careful what you ask for.

And from what my recollection is Venezuela was a very Democratic/Capitalistic country that ceded their rights to a Socialist Dictator and has become a real pile.

So his Bienvenido a Venezuela was the ultimate outcome of ceding your rights.
Yeah, your "there is nothing Democratic about Socialism...If your democracy fails and the citizens cede their rights to a Socialist form of government..." comment makes no sense to me, baldgriff. Please see my post from this morning in the other thread, since that debate belongs in that thread more than this one.

Former Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty, who decided to re-enter politics to hopefully regain the governor’s office, lost in the GOP primary last night to a lightly regarded county commissioner. Pawlenty was outspoken against Trump; Johnson wasn’t.

The Republican party is the Trump party (and has been for decades).
If DMT didn't exist we would have to invent it. There has to be a weirdest thing. Once we have the concept weird, there has to be a weirdest thing. And DMT is simply it.

Not really true. Pawlenty tried to portray his loss because he was an anti Trumper, he wasn't. He didn't speak out, embraced a lot of the dog whistle rhetoric, and generally supported Trump behaviors without using Trump's name. T-Paw lost because he was a shit show as a Governor, and once the people of Minnesota saw a fiscal recovery brought about by the current Governor, they had no desire to go back to the era of no new taxes from the state, but LOTS of increased fees and balancing the economy on the backs of the cities and counties.

The County Commissioner, Jeff Johnson, actively embraced Trump...but I'm not sure that his victory was as much as him winning as it was Pawlenty losing.
