There's already more hard evidence against Avenetti than ever existed against Kavanaugh.

I can say with absolute certainty that the Democrats will never nominate this opportunist clown to be a SC justice, so the is a meaningless comparison. The only good that could come of this incident is maybe this will finally end all absurd notions that this guy would ever have been a legitimate and viable candidate for president, or any other public office.

ETA: I feel this way even if these allegations prove false. This guy was always a show, even though Daniels claims against Trump are legitimate.

Do you believe Julie Swetnick’s claims were legitimate?

I don't know. I don't feel like they've really been investigated. I'm certainly not assuming them to be legitimate, but neither am I assuming them to have been falsified.

Hence, the comparison to the claims against Kavanaugh.

you really believe that mr blackout drunky didn't try to rape anyone in high school. I don't. I knew a ton of guys like Kavanaugh when I was in high school, and when I saw them pull that shit, I stopped them, and took great pleasure in delivering a beating that they would remember later. Hell, I know that in several cases I got laid because of what I had done. Consent is sexy

I did not say that, though I would be willing to believe it.

I said that he is innocent of all the specific charges that were made. In other words, I do not believe Blasey-Ford in either the particulars or the generalities. As the sex crime specialist said, there is not enough factual basis to obtain a warrant much less the de facto trial we observed.

                        • There's a Politico article out this morning. In this case, the title is the point:

‘He’s Barack Obama, but white’: Beto O’Rourke blows up the 2020 Democratic primary

Is that a good thing? Why or why not?

Yes, being Obama-like as a candidate is a very good thing, regardless of skin color. And it's kind of absurd for you to suggest that the title is the point, when the actual piece clarifies what they mean:

He's the kind of candidate who could potentially energize and unite many segments of an incredibly diverse Democratic Party: young and old, moderate and progressive, men and women, white and non-white, white collar and blue collar. He's a very effective communicator who is positive and hopeful and who can articulate his positions and views in ways that are respectful of differing viewpoints.

I am, in fact, intrigued by him as a possible candidate for a lot of the same reasons I gravitated pretty early to Obama.

I thought you were a John Edwards guy pretty early. Am I misremembering?

he might be more charismatic than the rest of the democrat field, but that really is a low bar to clear.
