Beto brings a water gun to a knife fight. Unwilling to attack, he's not got the killer instinct for taking down Trump.

    • Harris is still my frontrunner, with Klobuchar moving up to second place. Still have to see who tosses their hat in the ring and how effective they are at delivering their message upon announcing their candidacy.

LOL, thanks. But I've probably said too many controversial things on RotoJunkie and Facebook to be elected dogcatcher, let alone president.

              • From last Thanksgiving, the title says it all.

Here's How To Ruin Thanksgiving: Talk About 2020
Torment your relatives by gossiping about the Democrats who could run against Trump.

Their (now year old) list is Joe Biden, Cory Booker, Sherrod Brown, Julian Castro, James Comey, Andrew Cuomo, Bill deBlasio, Eric Garcetti, Kirsten Gillibrand, Kamala Harris, John Hickenlooper, Dwayne "the Rock" Johnson, Amy Klobucher, Seth Moulton, Chris Murphy, Bernie Sanders, Elizabeth Warren, Mark Zuckerberg.

Obviously, the article is only semi-serious and some of the names are not at all serious. Still, it is interesting how many are still in the hat, though not the Queen of Facepaint. I guess Hillary was still laying low a year ago.

                • over/under on Trump's name being mentioned at all at family's Thanksgiving dinner is ..... 1.

so if he gets mentioned once, it's a push.

                  yeah, we're eccentric that way.

for the typical family, maybe for every mention of politics, you have to donate $20 to the opposition party. that should tidy things up

I can honestly say that I never remember any family member bringing up politics at Thanksgiving. I know my father is very conservative and that my Uncle is pretty liberal, but they just don’t do it. For that, I remain thankful.

                    • We've always talked politics at Thanksgiving and as someone who enjoys learning about others' political/ideological/moral perspectives across the spectrum and discussing/debating with spirit but without contempt, I'm glad we have, can and do. Before the explosion of social media, the handful of conservatives in my extended family tended to be my primary source of exposure to and engagement with conservative perspectives. If we had some rule against talking politics at family gatherings, I wouldn't have learned/benefited from that.

yeah, my point isn't that NO family should talk politics - just that typically it appears to be a disaster. your family seems to be the exception.
