Shanahan withdraws his Defense Secretary nomination. Official word is "he wants to spend more time with his family." Yeah, sure he does. Turns out a domestic dispute from almost a decade ago is the reason:
"The announcement comes about an hour after the USA Today reported the FBI is revisiting a violent domestic dispute from nine years ago between Shanahan and his then-wife Kimberly as part of the background investigation for his confirmation hearing."

As an aside, he says he withdrew because he doesn’t want to put his family through any more trauma by reliving by the opening old wounds as the FBI conducts their background check. Particularly for his son, who was accused of violence against his mother.
So yes, you’re right, he’s just another bad guy in the Trump universe. Got it.I know in my heart that man is good. That what is right will always eventually triumph and there is purpose and worth to each and every life.

There is apparently no evidence of him being abusive to anyone, other than in the testimony of his ex-wife, who sounds unreliable and even bat shit crazy!).

I'm sorry, did I say that he punched someone, or even REMOTELY accuse him of anything? In fact, after it was broadcast, I had thought the McCain thing had something to do with it, but then saw USA Today reported this and edited my post. Holy shit Bernie, your TDDS is FLAMING.
Maybe it's the TERRIBLE VETTING process by this administration that's the issue?

In addition, POLITICO's article, while mentioning the domestic dispute allegation and Shanahan discusses it, notes that there were many, many other factors at play, including his inexperience. Oh, Bernie....?
