I was too young for Reagan, but I voted Bush Sr in '88, GWB in '00 & '04, and Giuliani twice. In fact, I was registered as a Republican from 1988 until 2016. When the bozo won the nomination, it was bye felicia.

Good Lord...what is this gibberish? And it was an interview that he gave to Piers Morgan, which hurt my brain even more...

‘We would make a great deal with the United Kingdom because they have product that we like. I mean they have a lot of great product. They make phenomenal things, you know, and you have different names - you can say “England”, you can say “UK”, you can say “United Kingdom” so many different - you know you have, you have so many different names - Great Britain. I always say: “Which one do you prefer? Great Britain? You understand what I’m saying?’

‘You know Great Britain and the United Kingdom aren’t exactly the same thing?’

‘Right, yeah. You know I know, but a lot of people don’t know that. But you have lots of different names. The fact is you make great product, you make great things. Even your farm product is so fantastic.’
PIERS MORGAN talks with President Donald Trump as the Republican concludes his tour of the UK, boarding Air Force One to foreign policy, the Royal family - and personalised snacks.

Because he DOESN'T UNDERSTAND IT! If he doesn't understand something, it has no meaning to him and he gets rid of it. Yes I know, a normal person would ask questions and try to understand, but not this one.

I’m not sure where I heard it last year, but it still rings true: he’s like a 3rd grader who has to stand in front of the class and give a book review of a book he didn’t read.

Nah man, he is playing 3d chess. We are all just too dumb to understand. He is the smartest man to ever live, people. And, of course, he is also the greatest speaker, if you can follow his complex, poetic speech patterns!

Look, I'm a writing teacher, so believe me when I tell you--this man, this great orator of a man, he is redefining how we perceive effective communication. It used to all be about the 5 Cs--clarity, concision, coherence, cohesiveness, and correctness. Not for Trump. Trump be like, "fuck all dem C's, bitch." He doesn't strive for one of them. Not one. He doesn't need them.

You know why? Because he has the most important Cs, my friends. He has charisma, he has cash, and, most importantly, he has crotch-grabbing courage! All you cucks can keep them other weak-ass Cs. Charisma, cash, crotch-grabbing=POTUS. Trump wins, you all lose. Here's a steak and some water, go to Trump University and get a real education.

There you will learn the earth is flat, news is fake, and the healthiest man to ever live, according to his doctor, can get bone spurs that keep him out of fighting for his country, but can mock POWs, claim to be smarter than generals, and still win the presidency on the back of votes from pro-military citizens. Oh, and you will learn, it doesn't matter how many porn stars you bang, how many women you call fat pigs, how many under-aged girls you drool over and say could be your next wife when they are legal, or how many daughters you want to bang--you will still get pro-family religious folks to vote for you to MAGA! And all the Evangelists will ignore how un-christ-like your prosperity gospel, God loves me more, because I have more thinking is! You will even get all of the cold-war era folks, who hated Russia, to be cool with Russia helping you win! Putin is a great man, people. He must be, he is rich! If more black folks were rich, maybe he'd have let them live in his buildings...nah, probably not, but who cares? No one should care, and black people should still vote for him--what do they have to lose?!

You will learn, at Trump U, how a poor orange billionaire can rise up, despite all his many, many flaws, to be the leader of the free world, to be the face of our nation, for all the world to see, and say--"this, this is what America is!?" And ain't it great? Ain't America Great...again?

                Making the US look STRONG!

And even more awesome, -- and very typical -- he goes into a ONE on ONE meeting (hmm) with Vladimir Putin, a one-time KGB AGENT, and will totally wing it:

"privately, a State Department official and a source familiar with preparations says summit planning was so rushed that the No. 2s at the major departments -- like State, Defense and Treasury -- did not convene specifically on this summit through the National Security Council.

By comparison, there were multiple deputy NSC meetings to prepare for the summit with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un last month.

The State Department official compared the lack of preparation to the G-7 summit last month, when the U.S. was unable to agree on a communique with allies."

                And oh, there's more:
President Trump on Sunday said he "hadn't thought about" asking Russian President Vladimir Putin to extradite the Russian officials indicted by special counsel Robert Mueller for conspiring to hack Democratic National Committee (DNC) servers during the 2016 election.

CBS News's Jeff Glor interviewed Trump at his golf resort in Scotland just ahead of the president's summit in Finland with Putin.

Glor asked Trump if he would ask Putin to extradite the Russian intelligence officers named in the indictment.

"Well I might. I hadn't thought of that. But I certainly, I'll be asking about it," Trump said.

It is very much wanted, at least from me. There's little value for us in discussing these issues if it's just a total echo chamber (or Teenwolf and me debating how far left the Democratic Party should go, lol). also i think sometimes people just need also to vent. you have to let it out. and you can't do that by yourself. that's like telling jokes to yourself. it doesn't work. you need somebody to listen.

i did immediately think of Bill Clinton when citing people saying Trump is morally unfit. it's not really what i meant. ..i have this thing where i think maybe the number one quality of the POTUS should be caring about americans. like the captain of a platoon. like he wants to see each guy in his squad make it. ironically i wouldn't use Bill as the best example because his fake 'feel your pain' act was overdone. he did go to NK to bring back an american which is a better example of what i'm looking for in a president. also, a result of Trumps visit got remains of american soldiers from the Korean War returned.

it was Obama that gave me the idea as he was trading enemy combatants for american hostages. whether a person thinks that's a bad trade. i got the impression he did it because he cared about americans before anything else.

you don't get to be president or powerful from being a nice guy. i guess this is where you say you want presidents that will have a beer with you. yet mostly all politicians are rich even if you say Trump would seem like the epitome of someone that would grow up in an atmospheric bubble to be a mean real estate guy. so you worry about the level of empathy going on there. i am still holding out hope he will surprise me and i'll wake up in Kansas in my bed to find the tornado was a dream. ..or i'll wake up in a spaceship and aliens will be standing around me wearing Trump masks trying to laugh like humans.

Yeah, sadly, the North Koreans thumbed their nose at the US and didn't show up at the meeting to discuss how to return the remains of Korean War GI's. So that never happened...

Yup. All my republican friends have said for years--"man, we really need to elect a guy like Bill Clinton...that guy was a class act. I can't say a bad word about that guy. We need to find a guy like that! But let's make sure he has absolutely no political experience, like at all...that is a MUST. And he has to comment on how hot his own daughter is. Not doing that would be a total deal breaker."

I'm interested in the thoughts of my right-leaning and right-center-leaning friends in the Sports Bar. What do you think of that? How is that not "apologizing for America," which Trump promised us was never going to happen under his leadership?

Edit to add a link to Ben Shapiro's analysis from The Daily Wire:

President Trump seems to be under the misimpression that because he knows he didn’t collude with the Russian government during the 2016 election, the Russians are innocent victims of a rabid press and a misguided Mueller investigation. This is dangerous and wrong. The Mueller indictments of 12 Russian citizens for hacking the DCCC, the DNC, and the Hillary Clinton campaign are damning. Yet Trump disavowed his own intelligence apparatus in order to discredit any notions of collusion, and seemed to blame members of his own executive branch for tensions with Russia – all to assuage his own ego.
