Ha. I’ve been screaming. If everything you do is a scam, you assume everyone else is scamming. That’s why Republicans can’t fathom lefties having empathy or really wanting laws that don’t directly help them. They can’t figure out the “scam”.
i've been saying that for decades, about everything!

I don't know what the hill.com is, but does this make sense?
Really? thehill.com is the center-right version of Politico. I'm surprised you're not aware of them.

"A group of Democrats who introduced legislation to abolish U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) said they will vote against the measure if GOP leadership follows through with their vow to bring it to the House floor.

Reps. Mark Pocan (D-Wis.), Pramila Jayapal (D-Wash.) and Adriano Espaillat (D-N.Y.) released a statement Thursday accusing GOP leaders of exploiting the legislation for political gain after leadership confirmed it planned to hold a vote.

While the Democratic lawmakers said they plan to vote against their own measure – which would create a commission to examine ICE’s responsibilities and then recommend transferring them to other agencies – they said they welcome the opportunity for debate."
Heh. Three absolute lightweights attempt to put forth a political stunt bill and get burned by an even bigger political stunt.
I'm just here for the baseball.

Despite my saying yesterday that I don't see the point in debating Trump's "diplomatic style" at the NATO meetings, his attack on Theresa May and embrace of Boris Johnson was pretty shocking, even for Trump.

            Agree completely.

I guess we are just too dumb to see the ultimate positive outcomes of his well-thought out grand designs, TW!

It will all be clear when he puts the world in checkmate. Then we will see he was a Snape-like figure all along! Sure, he acted the villain his whole life, but he is secretly working for the greater good! You just have to read between lines, man. Between all the best words he uses, there are better ideas, in secret codes, buried deep, deep down. We are just deranged dummies for not seeing it.

the way you guys are talking it's like one of those .. he is either incredibly smart or incredibly stupid scenarios. like in the movie Enemy of the State with Gene Hackman and Will Smith!

he's been pretty smart getting elected. his tariffs with China targeted high end electronics and transportation trying to protect intellectual property. China probably won't care about the electronics by 2025 but the transportation could piss off the urban workers. while China targeted Trump supporters exports as did Europe. but those were logical things to target in China. i don't know what happened with ZTE. but i don't think Xi even wants to think about having any unrest.

what i thought was different was Trump saying on twitter to farmers to hold out to his strategy. which i always thought his supporters come first.

First, I don't know that you'll find anyone here that a true Trumpian-Republican, maybe chancellor or onejay, but that might be the closest you'll find. The only thing a lot of his supporters, and not his white-supremacist following, is concerned about is the Supreme Court.

Can I ask why you're so passionate about our crappy president?

i have epiphanies like that all the time. for example i was watching a basketball game today and realized pom poms are like a pair of tits. there's 2 of them. they're round. they shake. women play with them. thus instead of having two, cheerleaders have four boobs.

Unsurprising. Pocan is an absolute lightweight; he embarrasses even locals from Madison. I realize I'll probably piss off B-Fly again, but I love it when we make the left live by their own Alinsky-based rules.

I'm actually surprised that this hasn't been asked until now; I'll let tw answer but just throw this in - the leader of the US is by & large the leader of the western world; the direction the US takes has a massive influence on other countries; the US sets the rules by which other countries have to live (e.g. - you don't like NAFTA, you'll just end it; had Canada taken that approach there would have been huge repercussions that simply couldn't have been tolerated up here). So yeah, we care what happens down there.
It certainly feels that way. But I'm distrustful of that feeling and am curious about evidence.

If abolishing ICE is so popular with the socialist far left, which at this point makes up a substantial % of democrats, why not vote yes to your own bill??! Show us how serious you really are!
