  • C. Patterson / Ryan Mathews for Forte

Have a trade on the table but wanted to get the pens thoughts... 12 team, non PPR, non-keeper. Start 1 QB, 2 WR, 2 RB, 1 TE, 1 Flex, D, K

    Trade on the table is:

    I give:
    C. Patterson
    R. Mathews
    4th round pick next year

    I get:
    Forte
    5th round pick next year

My current WRs and RBs are:

WR: Jordy Nelson, C. Patterson, Crabtree, Brandin Cooks, Golden Tate and Justin Hunter
RBs: Lacy, Mathews, J. Bell and Bernard Pierce... I also have the 2nd waiver wire pick so likely a good chance at K. Davis, D. Brown, Khiry Robinson, etc.

Losing Patterson would hurt my WR depth for sure but I can try to trade for another one if need be. Is the upgrade to my RB corps worth it?

I'd make that trade in a heartbeat. Not sure why the other owner would though with Mathews currently on the shelf.
    14 Team 1/2PPR league (1 Keeper)

QB: Rivers (3), Stafford (5), Keenum (NA)
    RB: Kamara (11), McKinnon (7), Bernard (7)
WR: M. Thomas (NA), Crabtree (1), Shepard (8), Wallace (NA), Cobb (NA)
    TE: Olsen (NA)
    K: Lutz (7)
    DEF: JAX (7)

    (We start 1 QB, 1 RB, 2 WRs, 1 RB/WR/TE, 1 TE, 1 K and 1 DEF)

I'd do this trade in a heartbeat. If it's a non-keeper, why would this guy trade Forte for Mathews, who could miss most of the fantasy season?

He's a charger fan holding out hope he'll only be out 4 weeks?

Let him [stupidly] hold out hope while you pick his pocket. He's a donation.

              Quick update:

Deciding to press my luck a little bit, I asked for Desean Jackson back in return as well to help "keep my WR depth." I proposed the original offer and the new offer with D-Jax in it and told the owner that really, I'd do either and D-Jax isn't a deal breaker. He accepted!

So the final trade looks like:

              C. Paterson, Mathews, 4th Round pick next year for Forte, D-Jax and 5th round pick next year. I'm obviously pleased. I am know hoping that D-Jax can put a few strong weeks together so I can trade him off to help somewhere else.

                UUuuuuhhh....wow.
Considering his only baseball post in the past year was bringing up a 3 year old thread to taunt Hornsby and he's never contributed a dime to our hatpass, perhaps?

Sometimes it's better to be lucky than good? Or just knowing where to find the weaknesses in your leaguemates (in this case, the ability to move up in draft picks was a surprisingly big motivator for him even though we still have this entire season to play for - Flags Fly Forever!... and being a Chargers fan..)!
