Keith Olberman goes for the throat. Wow!

"“We begin tonight with the unavoidable and simple truth that intentionally, or by neglect, the Atlantic County, New Jersey district attorney’s office, the Baltimore Ravens, the National Football League, and commissioner Roger Goodell have conducted a cover-up of Ray Rice’s assault on his then fiancée on February 15th.

There is no other conclusion possible. Each body, each leading individual involved came to a judicial conclusion about what had happened to Janay Palmer and What should happen to Ray Rice. And each, through deception or incompetence, misled the public, damaged the efforts of every man and every woman in this country seeking to merely slow down the murderous epidemic of domestic violence, and made a mockery of the process by which those who batter those they claim to love are to be brought to justice."

Was anyone else sickened by the NCAA, on the same day this story broke, immediately reinstating Penn St two years early for their Sandusky cover up?
If DMT didn't exist we would have to invent it. There has to be a weirdest thing. Once we have the concept weird, there has to be a weirdest thing. And DMT is simply it.

yes, that was a sneaky load of bullshit. Some things in life shouldn't be shortened for good behavior. Covering up a pedophile would be near the top of that list

I'm all in favor of Ray Rice never appearing in an NFL uniform again.

But how many other NFL players have done the same thing, and have been simply lucky enough to have avoided a camera when they punched a woman?

Truckloads of them. Michael Pittman received no punishment from the league when he repeatedly beat his wife about 10 years ago. Several current players are facing suspensions for it now, most notably Hardy from CAR.

ESPN - Roger Goodell said Ray Rice was 'ambiguous' about what happened in the elevator when he met with him.

              Duuuuuuuuuuhhhhhhhhh.
Considering his only baseball post in the past year was bringing up a 3 year old thread to taunt Hornsby and he's never contributed a dime to our hatpass, perhaps?

                The plot thickens.

Rotoworld: A law enforcement official tells the Associated Press that NFL security chief Jeffrey Miller received the Ray Rice video in April.
It appears the NFL may have found its scapegoat, but it's unclear if that's the tact the league will take. It defies logic that Miller would either knowingly not watch the video, or fail to alert commissioner Roger Goodell if he received it. For his part, Miller "unequivocally" denies receiving the tape. The league has repeatedly denied seeing the video before TMZ released it earlier this month. This story isn't going away any time soon.

Rice won his appeal and has been reinstated, and can now play at any time (once a team signs him, that is). New England, anyone?

I doubt anyone touches him this year. Not enough reward for the PR risk. And why would NE need him if they signed Blount?
