Sanchez is equal in talent, is 7 years younger, and will probably get a contract 1/10th as much as they're going to end up paying Schaub.

How many times has Sanchez gone over 90.0 QB rating? Because Schaub did it five years in a row. Sanchez has never even gone over 80, for god's sake.

I'm also starting to really wonder whether you understand the NFL salary floor. Are you saying that signing Mark Sanchez to a long-term contract is a better move than signing a more expensive Matt Schaub to a one year deal (with the potential to be three but with no additional guaranteed money)?
Ummm, it's you my friend, who doesn't understand how the salary cap floor works.

It's based on a 4-year average of total cash spending over the four year period of 2013-2016. That means the Raiders could sign any number of free agents in 2015 and 2016, hand them sizable bonuses, and still be in compliance. Or if they fail, they would simply have to pay the players on the roster a little bit more retroactively.

And Sanchez is not getting more than a 2-year deal from anyone (look at all the deals these backup QBs like Fitzpatrick got).

If they're equal in talent, then me and Daniel Day-Lewis are equal in acting ability.

The Jets got a hell of a lot better... For the four games Vick will start while healthy.

Maybe you guys missed Schaub's epic decline last year, when he almost single-handedly took down one of the AFC's top Super Bowl contenders and turned them into a laughingstock -- this despite having Andre Johnson, DeAndre Hopkins and virtually the same weapons as any other year.

He's possibly the league's most immobile QB, he has a far below average arm, and his calling card was his ability to read coverage and protect the ball. And now all he's known for is throwing Pick Sixes by the bushel.

This is the NFL, not MLB-- once a 33-year old goes into a massive decline, the odds say he's not getting back up that cliff.

Damn, you must be one helluva acto....wait a minute...

Sanchez has the USC mystique about him. So it would appear that he has as high talent level of Schaub who is from Virginia...not exactly known for their QBs. At some everyone will realize that Sanchez has little to offer the NFL...a bit like Matt Leinart.
Considering his only baseball post in the past year was bringing up a 3 year old thread to taunt Hornsby and he's never contributed a dime to our hatpass, perhaps?

All three QB's mentioned in this thread have little to nothing left to offer...NBC boys, Nothing But Crap.

Technically the Eagles didn't cut Vick. He was a free agent and they let him walk.

I will just never get over what Vick did. I'm all for giving people second chances if they've made a bad decision (or two or three) but what he did is a completely deplorable thing. How do you not know that torturing and gleefully murdering those animals is wrong? To me it's something that someone who's completely without a soul or conscience would do. Don't give me the bullstein about "it's a cultural thing and how he grew up".

I can't ever look at the guy again and wish him luck and be glad that he's redeemed himself and served his time.
