  • Week 2--Best Yardage Choices

As I mentioned in another thread I am in a league, a fund rasier (but we are playing for a portion of the donated funds for CASH) that is heavily heavily yardage. Don't believe me?

    The scoring system:
QB: 1 point per yard passed, 2 points per TD thrown
RB: 3 points per yard rushed, 6 points per TD rushed
WR: 3 points per yard received, 6 points per TD received

4 players per position (we can put one our bench also, but 4 get you points)

    QBs I picked:
    P.Manning vs NYG
    Luck vs MIA
    A.Rodgers vs WSH
    Brees vs TB
    Freeman on Bench vs NO

    RBs I picked:
    D.Martin vs. NO
    Charles vs. DAL
    Peterson vs. CHI
    Foster vs. TEN
    T.Richardson on Bench vs. BAL

    WRs I picked:
    Marshall vs. MIN
    V.Jackson vs. NO
    Fitzgerald vs. DET
    A.Johnson vs. TEN
    C.Johnson on Bench vs. ARI

The only players I have on the roster because it just seems wrong to not have them on are Peterson and C. Johnson.

Is there anyone you think I'm completely overlooking to the point I should start them? Please advise!
Considering his only baseball post in the past year was bringing up a 3 year old thread to taunt Hornsby and he's never contributed a dime to our hatpass, perhaps?

The only QB I'm not sold on is Luck. Does Indy really have that good a passing offense? I would lean towards Eli. The Giants have to throw a lot. I worry a little bit about Brees just because the Saints could go up big early, but have the same concerns about Brady, Kaep and Wilson are facing tough Ds, and I'm not sure who else I like. Ryan maybe? STL did not exactly dominate Carson Palmer. So I think I'd go Peyton, Eli, Rodgers, Brees or Ryan. I'm assuming your QBs don't get rushing yards points? I'd think about Pryor in that scoring system if they do.

For RB I am worried the Bucs are just imploding this week. I guess you have to play AP no matter what but I don't love the Bears matchup. I would go with Ridley, the Pats should be up big and don't really have anyone else. Apparently Charles is a little banged up so keep an eye on that. I like Forte as a possibility too, as well as Shady McCoy. So I think I'd be leaning Ridley, Shady, AP and Foster, pending Charles' health.

WR is even more of a crapshoot so I think what you have is fine. I really like Cobb but will he be Rodgers' big guy again? I like Marshall and VJax and Fitz and Andre. I can't imagine sitting Megatron so I guess I'd play him over VJax.

Can you start any guy or are we just choosing from the ones that you have listed above?

The site that I use has this for top yardage guys:

QB: Rodgers, Brees, P. Manning, E. Manning (if QBs get 3pts per rushing yard then you have to go with Newton, Kaepernick, Vick & Prior)
RB: McCoy, A. Peterson, Lynch, Chris Johnson (not sure if I'd trust Johnson though,
WR: Marshall, Calvin, Dem. Thomas, V. Cruz

Otherwise, if we can only work with the guys you have listed above, I would:

      QB: Sit Freeman
      RB: Sit Richardson
      WR: Sit Fitz
      14 Team 1/2PPR league (1 Keeper)

QB: Rivers (3), Stafford (5), Keenum (NA)
      RB: Kamara (11), McKinnon (7), Bernard (7)
WR: M. Thomas (NA), Crabtree (1), Shepard (8), Wallace (NA), Cobb (NA)
      TE: Olsen (NA)
      K: Lutz (7)
      DEF: JAX (7)

      (We start 1 QB, 1 RB, 2 WRs, 1 RB/WR/TE, 1 TE, 1 K and 1 DEF)
