  • Pre-Season News/Injuries/Notes

Figured we should have a one-stop place for all happenings during the pre-season.

    To get started:

    Ed's thread about Jordy Nelson - http://forum.rotojunkiefix.com/showt...498#post155498

Rob Gronkowski - Heard on the radio to not expect him until week 6. Couldn't find anything solid in print on it, but he still hasn't been taken off the PUP list and is still in street clothes - http://www.rotoworld.com/player/nfl/5729/rob-gronkowski

IMO, this makes the gap between Jimmy Graham and the rest of the pack at TE so wide that Graham could start going in the late 1st round.

Which pretty much guarantees Riley Cooper a spot on the team, assuming his teammates forgive him.

UDFA Ifeanyi Momah becomes a deep, deep sleeper, as he could become the red zone target that the Eagles thought they had with Benn.

Damn, liked him as a sleeper this year!

Sorry, must've jinked him with this comment in the "Who's your favorite team" thread...

[QUOTE=Friarfan;155382] Denario Alexander doesn't seem to have convinced anyone that he's put his (lengthy) health issues behind him as his ADP in mock drafts seem to indicate, so he might be considered a nice sleeper.

Another WR sleeper done: Joe Morgan of the Saints tore his ACL and is done for the year.

Both of my leagues draft/auction the weekend before week 1 Sunday and they're both in S Jersey. He may not get picked in the 12-team league, but in the 16-team auction, he'll definitely get a hopeful crickets bid of a buck or two.
"Igor, would you give me a hand with the bags?"
"Certainly. You take the blonde and I'll take the one in the turban!"

Is it me (since I tore my ACL this summer) or are there an increase in ACL injuries so far this year, especially since we're only a little over a week and a half into pre-season?

I read one opinion that it has to do with the increased amount of off time the players now have. I am not sure I buy it but there it is.
After former Broncos quarterback Brian Griese sprained his ankle and said he was tripped on the stairs of his home by his golden retriever, Bella: “The dog stood up on his hind legs and gave him a push? You might want to get rid of that dog, or put him in the circus, one of the two.”

Are you implying the NFL players are tearing their ACLs in sympathy for you?

I don't know, last year it was because they had to rush through the preseason because of the lockout as the reason for so many injuries. I think it's just the way players are built nowadays - muscle upon muscle upon muscle.

NFL players are on roids/PEDs....ligaments can't handle the extra mass.

                              I'm not joking
