The Niners will certainly face some kind of investigation for the way the CMC inactive was handled

I tend to agree but I don't know the rules. In the post game interview Mason said he knew he'd be starting Friday...

Yup. That wasn't made public. Questionable is 50-50, sounds like he was more doubtful than questionable.

CMC out Week 2, IR a possibility. Talk about escalation.

Hollywood Brown had shoulder surgery and was placed on IR. Andy Reid saying now it'll be "months, not weeks" with him. Congrats to all the Rashee Rice/Xavier Worthy owners.

And Tua, of course, suffered another bad concussion and all bets are off on his return coming anytime soon

CMC placed on IR, so he's out until at least Week 6 now. What a disaster.

The Packers, during week 2 became the first NFL team ever to win 800 games.

Strange how just about every start by Sam Darnold and Baker Mayfield were also pathetic in Carolina. Both are thriving now. Time for them to look in the mirror.

Cooper Kupp to miss "significant time" and will be placed on IR

Amazingly, Tua is NOT being placed on IR

With Bryce Young's benching, it's fair to start asking if that trade was the biggest blunder in NFL history. It's not even comparable to the Herschel Walker trade, because at least Walker was good for a couple of years when he played for Minnesota, although the biggest blunder the Vikings made in that deal was wrongly assuming the picks they traded, which were conditional upon Dallas retaining players acquired, would be returned to them. But Dallas, of course, cut those players and kept the picks instead.

                      So to wit:
                      - Carolina trades DJ Moore, the 2023 1st and 9th picks, what would become the 2024 1st overall overall pick, and a 2025 2nd rd pick to the Bears for the 2023 1st overall pick
                      - they wrongly select Bryce Young over generational talent CJ Stroud
                      - not only was that the wrong choice, but Young has literally been one of the worst QBs in the NFL since that selection
                      - DJ Moore explodes for 1364 yards and 8 TDs
                      - the Bears select generational talent Caleb Williams with the 2024 1st overall pick, which Carolina expected to be much lower

edit: it does look like a really bad trade, but maybe a bit early to call Caleb Williams a generational talent ? I would love to have him in a dynasty league, but thru all of 2 games he has not yet looked amazing. It will be interesting to see how he develops in the NFL

The O line remains putrid. Not that it is all on them, Caleb has overthrown a couple of wide open receivers. He does seem to see the field better than our two previous QB's. Give him a little more time in the pocket and he will succeed.
