I wasn't talking about the 49ers as "don't care" - the Seahawks would have a great shot at making it to the Super Bowl if they had the 1 seed. Kind of reminds of, oh, the Falcons, for some reason.

Which playoff team would other NFC teams prefer, as opposed to having the Seahawks travel thousands of miles?

"Every road game they lost was by less than a TD."

And how many of those teams will appear in the playoffs? one - the 49ers, who beat them by 7, which doesn't seem like less than a TD.

I wouldn't change my opinion about a playoff-bound team that beat the Cardinals and Bills if they won by 17 or 70 per game. who cares?

entering Week 17, will be clarified

      AFC
Who's in - we have our 6 qualifiers:
      AFC South champ Texans 12-3
      AFC West champ Broncos 12-3
      AFC East champ Patriots 11-4
      AFC North champ Ravens 10-5
      Colts 10-5
      Bengals 9-6

      .................

      NFC
      Who's in - we have only 4:
      NFC South champ Falcons 13-2
      NFC North champ Packers 11-4
      49ers 10-4-1
      Seahawks 10-5

      What else:
49ers get division title with win
winner of Sunday's Redskins-Cowboys game (flexed to 8:20 pm ET) wins NFC East, loser in trouble
Vikings need win to get in
Bears need win, AND Vikings to lose
if Redskins lose, need Bears and Vikings to lose for wild card
Giants need win, AND Bears AND Vikings AND Cowboys to lose to get wild card
I think if Bears, Vikings, Giants, and Redskins all lose, then Redskins stumble into the wild cars

There are still a lot of elite WRs you can make the case for over Bryant. But the only two I'd definitely take over him at this point are Megatron and AJ Green.

I'm not sure I would tout the Packers "win" at home, either, unless that same officiating crew is welcomed back as grand marshals in a parade.

Nothing against Wilson, who has been terrific, but running up the score on teams that don't care doesn't get me excited about a team's playoff chances.

They were so good tonite against a QB with about 4 starts that if they were at home again in that spot against a similar playoff team, I'd take them in a heartbeat.

I realize the Seahawks have only been terribly lopsided in 30 years or so of home/road football, so no reason to consider the site of the games.

Based on your analysis, if you'll give me a mere 7 pts against the hapless Cowboys or Redskins in Week 18, I might have to consider it!
Your arguments are getting more and more strained.

What the hell is wrong with the Giants? If they keep playing like this, they will lose to the Eagles next week.

The Eagles had two golden chances to tie the Redskins at the end, but Foles underthrew an open Maclin in the end zone, and Evan Moore dropped a pass on the goal line.

Yeah, I don't buy it one bit. The Seahawks have improved tremendously, Russell Wilson is an MVP candidate, Marshawn Lynch is one of the best RBs in football, and that defense has been fierce.

I have no idea. After destroying the Saints, they've become a different team -- which is pretty common for them. As Eli Manning goes, so goes the Giants, and he's been pretty mediocre this year.

Well, I stand by my comments about the Seahawks, for the reasons stated.

That said, I had deleted my comment that started this latest kerfuffle because I decided it made more sense to let things play out - and let people enthusiastic about the Seahawks have their fun. Then someone responded to me, so I figured I needed to respond so that the thread made sense. But that was a mistake in the sense that I was undoing the point of my deleting the message.

So I'm done talking about the Seahawks.
