Eagles just fired their O-line coach turned D-Coordinator.

Should have been done in the offseason.

Wow...that'll really improve Mike Vick's turnover issues. I'm not an Iggles fan, but I don't understand how Casilla can be blamed for:
            - Giving up 16 points to the Browns...but Vick threw 4 picks.
            - Giving up only 23 points to the Ravens despite two picks by Vick, and at least one lost fumble.
            - OK, the Arizona game wasn't good. Even with that, the Eagles had three turnovers and a fumble returned for over 90 yards for a TD.
            - IMO, the D played extremely well against the Giants, especially in light two picks by Vick and another lost fumble.
            - Vick coughing it up on the goal line against the Steelers. Yeah, the Steelers had a last minute drive, but if Vick doesn't fumble, it doesn't matter.
            - Even the poor fourth quarter against Detroit covers up a decent defensive performance - Stafford was held to under 50% completions, and the D had to hold up against two more Vick picks.
            -
I'm just here for the baseball.

Castillo ran a ridiculously simple scheme and never blitzed. He was in way over his head. The stats you cite had everything to do with the talent and nothing to do with the scheme. The players had lost respect for him and were tuning him out. Reid made Todd Bowles go in the press box instead of on the sidelines because the players would turn to him for advice and ignore Castillo.

Castillo was certainly not the biggest problem with the team, but he was the one guy who bore some of the blame and could be replaced right now.
