Giants -3.5. Giants D-line versus a porous Dallas-O-line and Dallas' wounded, make this an easy call.

Buffalo +2.5. Buffalo is no powerhouse but neither are the Jets, I'll take the better team on both sides of the ball.

Miami +10. Not an endorsement of Miami by any means, but not a fan of double digit spreads in week 1 regardless of the teams involved.
Indy +10. Me thinks the Bears start slow, and Luck keeps this within reach.

Philly -7.5. Philly is a bit overrated but still has enough weapons to beat this Browns team.

Atlanta -2.5. Granted they are playing on the road and in a tough stadium but if the Falcons can't win this by more than 2.5...

I like Indy as well, just because I couldn't bring myself to pick the Bears for my eliminator pool, and if I'm not sure they can win straight up, I definitely don't trust them to win by 10.

            I like Dallas outright.

The Chiefs are banged up on defense, but I will stick with them winning at home. This could be Justin Houston's coming out party.

I also think Dallas will win outright.

The first of many reminders that nothing is an easy call when it comes to NFL betting.

I tend to shy away from big spreads usually (particularly early in the season), but I am going against three of the rookie QBs on the road (not willing to bet against Seattle though):

                  Saints -7 Redskins
                  Texans -11 Dolphins
                  Bears -10 Colts

I also like the Eagles -7.5 against the Browns, even though the Browns have a pretty good D. And the Lions -6.5 against the Rams.

So big faves, but I think they'll cover. I'm sure I'll be wrong.

Pittsburgh - Peyton's not so triumphant return
Seattle - even on the road, this is a divisional game and all Seattle has to do is cover Larry Fitzgerald, right?
TAMPA BAY - will shock many this year
CLEVELAND - home dog, but I bet against the Iggles in the road opener last year and lost too...
Buffalo - no reason other than I hate the Jets
Jacksonville - this will be ugly - field goal contest
Washington - if this isn't a push, it'll be close
                    KANSAS CITY - home dog
Indianapolis - will shock many this year
Cincinnati - bitter rivals always play tight games

2-3 bad first week (so far).

Well, lets take Pittsburgh +2 for tonight. Got two games tomorrow to get even.

Ok 2-4. Gotta pick both games tonight to pull even.

Going with Baltimore and Oakland laying the points.

Ugh. I went 4-6 on this mess. In fact, only two of the teams I picked actually won their game (Tampa, Washington).

So after the smoke clears from the first week I find myself 3-5. Not a very good start. Well at least there is next week.
