It's not always reverse order of standings, is it? I thought that you got bumped somehow when you made a successful claim or something.
#notpayingenoughattention
We have had waivers reverse order based on last years standings to start. After you use your waiver claim you move to last spot. After waivers I think we had FCFS before games start and then they were locked until Tuesday I believe.
I think I am comfortable with FAAB for the Tuesday claim and FCFS after that.
Running backs go fast in this league:
Fred Jackson 3rd Rounder (Top 3 back last year before injury, very consistent)
WR Available:
V Jackson 5th rounder (Freeman apparently loves him)
D Moore 9th rounder
G Little 8th rounder (Wheeten loved going to Blackman and they are similar type players)
OK, I am still unsure what we're voting on exactly and also still don't know if these proposed changes are for the season that starts in just a couple weeks. We already voted to go away from first come, first served --- why is that even on the table at all? Our league hasn't done this in years, iirc.
I have no idea if this is for this year or the next, but on the FCFS note. That is what we had been doing I thought for years. We did waivers once and then FCFS until the games started. Any player playing in a game would be locked, but you could pick someone up Sunday if you had to. That is why I voted for that as I thought it was the same system we have used.
- last year we had one waiver period, a waiver draft done by reverse order of standings, done on Wednesdays. After Wednesday, it became quick finger until games started on Sunday. On the poll, this is the third choice. Obviously run once per week, there's no sliding to the bottom upon making a pick.
- the second choice, twice weekly standard waivers, would replace quick finger with a second draft done Saturday nights. You would slide to the bottom upon making a pick.
- FAAB run twice per week is the first choice listed.
- I really, really, really, really want to get away from quick finger. Injuries happen during the week. I really don't want some guy who is at the computer being the beneficiary of someone else's bad news.
- not sure how changing the way waiver pickups are done with a month to go until we even start drafting should have any effect on things.

I'll play with whatever we decide whenever we decide it. I have only done 1 year of FAAB in football and still don't have a good feel for how to spend, but I'll figure it out or just lose some more.

2 great points
After former Broncos quarterback Brian Griese sprained his ankle and said he was tripped on the stairs of his home by his golden retriever, Bella: “The dog stood up on his hind legs and gave him a push? You might want to get rid of that dog, or put him in the circus, one of the two.”
All that complaining said and done, I'll go with whatever the group decides even if I don't like it. I do wish we were just doing a standard league, though.
I just wish someone would put together a goddamn poll that wasn't biased for once. Obviously Steve joining the league is already ****ing everything up, lol.
It's funny -- I thought FAAB twice weekly was the least-biased way for waivers. Everyone's got a shot at everyone, and if you miss out, you have a second chance. Waivers followed by FCFS was the most-biased of the three. Honestly, I never thought to do a FAAB/FCFS system, because I've never known of a league that does it that way.
Did you say that you needed me to write the poll up to make sense?
FAAB is not a great way to accomplish things, but it's a damn sight better than FCFS...and why do we need two different periods to add during the week anyway? Make it Friday night and call it good...Saturday is a walk-through day for the NFL anyway, so it's unlikely that any injury is going to happen in practice.

You need 2 periods because owners inevitably don't place enough successful claims, and with byes you need to be able to start a full lineup. also, with HTH, you don't want a team missing a kicker and losing b/c of it.

Really? My expectations as a commish are that the owners are smart enough, and committed enough, to cover their asses enough to field a complete line-up.
Anyway, I think that this would be another argument for the WW...you put in enough claims to get what you need to field a line-up, and the rest of the claims are voided once you fill your need.
